I don’t think Simon wants to propose to a vagrant.

Nope. I've no contact with her, she's not on my FB etc, and of course I've remarried and had a child since. It's just that that marriage caused me considerable emotional and financial pain and I realised that the one remaining thing sitting in a drawer upstairs is the old ring, and I could get some 'recompense' by selling it and enjoying the money in some small way.mr_jon wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 6:56 pm I would say move on, without some extravagant social-meeds thing of what you spent the money on. I presume the ex. has posted something along those lines and you want to one-up. Better than that, etc.
LOL Tim - that's awesome!tim wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 1:37 pm I didn't give a fluck what I got for mine (about 10% of it's cost, it turns out) just that I spent the money on something she'd have fucking hated.![]()
That they are going to need to try harder, right?
A-fucking-men to that.Simon wrote: Tue Feb 23, 2021 9:26 pmIt's just that that marriage caused me considerable emotional and financial pain and I realised that the one remaining thing sitting in a drawer upstairs is the old ring, and I could get some 'recompense' by selling it and enjoying the money in some small way.
I'm not into slating people I knew on the internet like that. It was just a pretty abusive situation that took me an enormous amount of strength and support to get over.speedingfine wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 11:07 am If anyone wants to write a cathartic, 'why my wife was a bitch' essay, I think I speak for all of us here by saying we need the entertainment.
Is this aimed at Tim?speedingfine wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 11:07 am If anyone wants to write a cathartic, 'why my wife was a bitch' essay, I think I speak for all of us here by saying we need the entertainment.
tim wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 11:14 am Yeah I'm not going there. There's not enough 1s and 0s left on the internet to do it justice.
Kudos Jobbo, prison is a few rungs higher than any of my exes feats.Jobbo wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 11:55 am My ex-wife went to prison after we'd got divorced. Not before appearing on Cowboy Builders on telly, though. I may not have got along with her but I don't think she was a criminal when we were together![]()
perfection?mr_jon wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 1:58 pm I also have had lucky escapes before finding one that I can put up with. Or, more to the point, she can put up with me despite my obvious perfectness.
