Schools are closed now, so daughter has finished for summer. It’s not even that hot, just a bit sweaty.. so long as you drink plenty of water you’ll all survive!

Yep, mousing over shows the temperature anywhere in the world. I had a good look around Antarctica to psychologically cool down.
The coolest bit is near live satellite image though and seeing the region of twilight rapidly moving.

Also the play button at the bottom is awesome, very smooth animations.

Coast to coast, LA to Chicago, Western Maine.

M25/M26 has been closed since this morning

It was just some red traffic at that time so probably not long happened. That must be tortuous to be stuck in.

Ooof, I bet a few people today wish they'd fixed their aircon a few months ago and brimmed their tank. At least being in an air conditioned bubble while stuck there would be bearable, but being stuck on the motorway, in a greenhouse, in this heat, with the engine off would be fucking awful.

As we just discussed offline - I think calling this "one of the coolest" might be a stretch but I'll happily invoke The Simpsons and 100% say this is only the hottest summer of our lives SO FAR.
