Re: Glastonbury 2023
I guess snobbery about people’s taste in music will never change, it’s always existed in one form or another.

I only caught one song but yeah - I need to check out the rest of their set. I also remember thinking he'd bulked up massively!ZedLeg wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2024 11:45 am Bloc Party were good. kele looks like he’s spent the last ten years in the gym.

I had no idea it was written like that, had to look up who on earth SZA was
Cheers, Harry
Re: Glastonbury 2023
My stepdaughter went to see her in Hyde Park on Saturday night, so SZA has had a busy weekend.

It’s not snobbery imo, I like other bands as mainstream as coldplay. I just don’t like the music they make.Ascender wrote: Sun Jun 30, 2024 6:30 pm I guess snobbery about people’s taste in music will never change, it’s always existed in one form or another.
People get very defensive around music tastes though

An absolute unit
Re: Glastonbury 2023
Then maybe you should stop making music
Re: Glastonbury 2023
That definitely isn't one of the criticisms I'd aim at scissor lady.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
Re: Glastonbury 2023
She had (I think) Lymes disease and basically had to learn to sing from scratch again from what I've read, so I thought she did ok (I've just finished watching her set on iPLayer).
Avril Lavigne was also a little ropey in places but I forgive her that because <drool>.

Oh, it wasn't aimed at you, it's just the one topic that's guaranteed to get people sniffy about what's "good" and also something people will go out of their way to tell you how much they don't like it and why its crap.ZedLeg wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 10:30 amIt’s not snobbery imo, I like other bands as mainstream as coldplay. Yeah I read that - I wasn't really watching but I think she was suffering from the Glastonbury Sound Gremlins that impacted a good few people (including SZA) . She seemed to improve after the first couple of songs.tim wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 11:45 amShe had (I think) Lymes disease and basically had to learn to sing from scratch again from what I've read, so I thought she did ok (I've just finished watching her set on iPLayer).
