When England Scored, there was a Stick or Twist option - they Stuck when they should have twisted.

After that, it's not just the subs, which was definitely part of the problem not ideal and didn't support Twist but what they did and how they positioned themselves.

time and time again, they just sat back, 10 years from the Argentine player giving them all the time and space to plan their attack.

Like this - (ignore Kane - he wasn't usually that far up)

Argentina have a choice of 5 players to pass to without an England Player within 10 yards- makes it far too easy

I don't know much about football but it looked like a very high risk strategy when the opponents have Lionel Messi on their right wing

I once picked my BIL up from a Peterborough game. They won 7:0 at home and the police stopped the lights over town bridge so all the fans could get into town.

I repeatedly heard them moaning it should have been 8 or 9 etc 😂

Also as half my family support West Ham, it's mainly a different type of anger or depression depending on the game.

Dave!

We can all get behind Argentina now in the final.

Rumour has it there's a few Welsh descendant's in the squad from Patagonian stock.

Looks like exactly the same result as 2018 to me… losing 2-1 in the semis

Oh yeah, jumped the gun with that. If they beat France it’ll be their best result in 60 years

Either way, I think they did well.

I find the British urge to give our sportspeople a kicking no matter how well they do a bit counterproductive tbh.

I mean, it could be worse.

"An England fanatic is so convinced the Three Lions are set for World Cup glory he has already had a foot-long tattoo inked on his leg celebrating the "win".

Sean Carrington said he has been sure of victory ever since Thomas Tuchel's men beat DR Congo 2-1 in the round of 32 clash.

He is now proudly showing off his huge £550 tribute to the trophy, with the words "England World Cup Winner 2026" etched in capitals underneath."

Largest population of non-English speaking Welsh descendants anywhere in the world

Aside from the fact i have Spain in a sweepstake, there won’t be a single Englishman supporting Argentina after that…

Well, accept the red half of Liverpool because they don't think of themselves as English

Of course it is, I don't think we're by any stretch the only nation that do it mind you.

I just want us to over achieve for once. It might be up there with our better world cup results, but in the context of our ranking it's par, and the fact that since 2018 we've had semi, final, quarter, final, semi, in major tournaments and not taken any silverware should be pretty disappointing for any sports team.

I hope all the pricks rolling out of pubs and shouting and laughing as they walked past my house at fucking-hell o' clock had a shit time, and shat their pants in the night, the cunts.

I'm more an aggrieved sports experiencer.
