Yeah, the GB eight looked so measured and powerful the whole way, that was such a well controlled race from them.
It's crazy watching the different reactions to bronze. The GB women's eight got bronze, and the commentators were saying that 2 years ago there was doubt that we had enough talent to field an international level crew. The crew look absolutely over the moon to have won bronze, dancing and jumping around.
On the other hand, in the men's eights, the US took bronze, and they all look absolutely gutted, because they were noted as potential winners. Just goes to show how expectations are the building blocks of disappointment.

Brilliant. Better than Lisa Simpson giving a blowjob.

Is that intentional or pareidolia?

It is, of course, the latter.

You're seeing the lips, it's pareidolia
Anyway, speaking of real things, imagine having your olympic dreams shattered because of....well....

The logo for Paris 2024 combines three separate symbols โ the gold medal, the flame and Marianne, the personification of the French Republic.
The logo is said to resemble 'Marianne' the personification of the French Republic. 'Marianne is a familiar face in French culture that is omnipresent in day-to-day life, appearing on stamps and outside every town hall,' Paris 2024's official website states.

It's an affliction. My mate is hung like a Porthcawl Donkey and the aggro it causes when he gets patted down at the airport is scary

Here we go! 100m final!
Great build up in the stadium
Edit - What a race. So close - .12 seconds between 1 and 8.
Fair play to him

Yeah, 100m final was great.
Great finish to the mixed triathlon relay.
One thing that has really struck me at this games is how happy many of the athletes look with getting a non-gold medal, even when they are perhaps a favourite for gold, or only just missed out. If I'd been grafting for 4 years, and know I'm usually the best in the world, I dunno whether I'd be able to look happy with silver or bronze! Fair play to them.

Now they've changed their mind and given silver to the USA. What a shambles, if they're not sure then they shouldn't announce anything, very unfair on the athletes.

Except the American menโs eight in rowing who looked pretty pissed with third

although that's likely a hangup from American exceptionalism
As for the tri relay, after an hour and a half to have top three so close is incredible racing

I was watching her semi, and they listed the PBs of each athlete before the start.

Her PB was whole seconds better than anyone else in the semi! Didn't realise. First semi winning time was also seconds off her PB.
