Seeking £57,000. I think I'd have upped that figure personally.
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

He has intimated that 'if you search the net you can read all about him'

So I did and no I couldn't.

I bet he Paypals over the money before the end of the year.

I think he’s probably trying to send a message that it’s not about the money.

I was playing on the Tesla configurator yesterday. They really are eye-wateringly expensive aren't they. Are there any vaguely sensible lease deals on these things?

I'm starting to think about what I might replace my vRS with next march, other than another one, and really for the type of driving I do these days an EV would be spot on.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

There was an 18 month, 5000 mile pa lease for an i-Pace that worked out at £400pcm a couple of weeks ago. Seemed very good value for a £60k+ car.
Cheers,

Elton John got £350,000 for someone suggesting he was on a diet where he spat out his food. Unsworth should've found some way to bring the action in the UK!!

The diver seems to be playing this one very carefully and very cleverly IMO

No point in suing for vast amounts of money because Musk will want to just settle early - the Vast amounts of money will be return for the secrecy clauses etc

I think the article states he's going for $75k compensation plus punitive damages, which I think in the US is decided by the jury and could be substantial. It's possible I'm wrong, though.

That would make much more sense. It says he will seek punitive damages "as well as the compensation" so it's is definitely in addition to that stated amount. I'm not clear as to what level punitive damages are set at so not clear whether that will put it in the ballpark of a UK level of compensation for defamation.

Some very quick Googling suggests that punitive damages is considered a a ratio to compensation and that there's no easy formula for it. 500:1 has been ruled out as unconstitutional, and 70:1 has been upheld as being OK. The wealth of the defendant is a huge factor in deciding punitive damages, as they are a punishment and must be felt as such by the defendant. So $5m isn't out of the question.

Interesting. $5m seems a fair amount for having to endure the entire world wondering if you're a paedophile - especially if your accuser is an unhinged billionaire and wouldn't notice if 5m went missing down the back of the sofa...

You've never been to Thailand, have you? 5m there will see him buy at least half the place in cash, and no-one ever thought he was a paedo in the first place.

Not really fair if the defendant wouldn’t notice a $5m hole.
