Where’s the car price crash apocalypse ?
Re: Where’s the car price crash apocalypse ?
Friend of mine just got the 4.1 v8d which still does less than 30mpg on its journey back from Germany where he bought it (lhd, he lives abroad mainly these days) so low 20s is great.
Boxster av is 22 and I think my golfs were too.

” at the 70-80mph UK motorway norm, the twin-turbo V8’s revs are sitting at just 1700-1800rpm, allowing fuel economy to climb above 20mpg – as long as you can resist the temptation to boot it.)”Nic wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 5:10 am https://www.evo.co.uk/porsche/cayenne/1 ... enne-turbo
Harry said it can do over 20mpg too, happy now? I’m sure it’ll dip around town.
My c32 does 14, I’ll tell you about that once I’ve sold it.
Some might describe that as using a “light right foot”...

Didn’t deny it.
So what was that about?Rich B wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2020 10:20 pm It’s more than everyone else manages on them, so I was just wondering if it was the truth, or the “Nic Dales about to put a car up for sale and we’ll only hear about the reality after he’s sold it truth”.![]()

Your ownership reports for cars you’re about to sell are VERY different to those you’ve sold.Nic wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:33 am Didn’t deny it.

It’s understandable, of course you’re not going to slag of a car you’re trying to sell, but I tend to take your pre-sale ones with a (large) pinch of salt.
Re: Where’s the car price crash apocalypse ?
And you could apply that to everyone who’s sold a car ever. Seems strange you’d go out of your way to make this point?

Not really, all I asked was if you were driving it with a light right foot and you got all pissy. Following that is it any surprise that I’d give some background as to why I’d question your figures?Nic wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 9:09 am And you could apply that to everyone who’s sold a car ever. Re: Where’s the car price crash apocalypse ?
Yeah, I believe him, like I believe Nic. Why would either of them lie about it? Rich seems to be a bit triggered for some reason.
If Rich thinks Nic is going to make a massive profit flipping a Cayenne Turbo to someone who’ll pay through the nose because it’ll do 22mpg, he should have bought it himself

If your overall av in your golf is that you either
a) dont drive it or
b) drive like a fanny 100 miles a time when you take it out.

Yours does that mpg going to the shops - send a pic mate of the computer - and you driving like a fanny.
Re: Where’s the car price crash apocalypse ?
I'm happy to announce that since I've used the BMW as my 'break room' while WFH (to get the hell away from screens on lunch, etc) it's spent a lot of time idling. I think the average now for the last few months is about 7mpg, as it doesn't remove 'stopped' time from the fuel consumption averages.
I might get a picture later.
(pootling around town it's about 11-13mpg as it barely warms up, on a run mostly cruising at 70 (say, popping to Hull with a bit of town on each end) it's around 30 average.

if I only drive to the shops I’d not have sold the M3. I’ve averaged about 12-15k a year for the last 2 years.Broccers wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2020 10:50 am Yours does that mpg going to the shops - send a pic mate of the computer - and you driving like a fanny.
