Re: Decent Recent TV
I’d forgotten just how good Game of Thrones was and how absolutely epic some of the big fight scenes were.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Decent Recent TV
It’s one of my favourite series of the last year and is right up there for me with the best series ever made.speedingfine wrote: Fri Jun 19, 2020 8:36 pm Watchmen series is free on HBO's site this weekend, no registration be necessary. Gets excellent reviews![]()
Features some amazing music too on the soundtrack and the motion score by Trent Rezmor & Atticus Ross.

Wife and I have just finished S1 and really enjoyed it. My favourite but was Malkovich's drunken argument with himself.unzippy wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 2:40 amEnjoyed it in a brain out kind of way - presidential text messages![]()

I’m only a couple of years lateRich B wrote: Sat Jul 28, 2018 11:12 am I’ve watched a couple of Netflix series recently - Sinner and Safe. Both decent, and I liked the way they wrapped it up in 1 series too rather than crowbarring in cliff hangers for another series.

I’ve never heard of this show but it looks interesting so that’s next on the list, thanks for the recommendations.mik wrote: Sun Jun 28, 2020 12:52 pmI’m only a couple of years lateRich B wrote: Sat Jul 28, 2018 11:12 am I’ve watched a couple of Netflix series recently - Sinner and Safe. Re: Decent Recent TV
Game of Thrones rewatch.... Genuinely forgot how amazing it was at its peak - which I think lasted 7 seasons. Amazing characters, epic action sequences and so many shocking plot twists and surprises. Without the break between each season, the story just keeps flowing and you don’t have to resort to googling characters to remind you what they’ve done and why they did certain things, or what the significance of places and objects are.
There’s so many different tales of redemption and wonderful pairings of certain, often unlikely characters when they end up thrown together by circumstance. Jerome Flynn still rocks, as does The Hound, Tyrion, Tormund, even Arja.
Season 8 starts ok, but unfortunately quickly turns to horse shit. That battle, the one which we’ve known has been coming for 7 series, ends up with such little real cost being paid by the core characters that it’s beyond belief. Watching it for a second time, its even more disappointing that season 8 was so short and still feels very rushed. They really didn’t stick the landing, not even slightly.
Still, definitely check it out if you’ve never seen it, it was on track to be one of the all time greats and there’s so much to enjoy in it.
And there’s the theme tune, which my wife still sings along to with “tits and dragons” being the main refrain.

Re: Decent Recent TV
Think really only The Hound got a decent ending in S8. Glad I binged then all before the final series.

Just coming to the end of S3 of this, very good. J Edgar is a legend.

Started watching Sons of Anarchy while I’m working. It’s the dumbest show I’ve ever seen but it passes the time
An absolute unit
