Well Seidl is the brains behind the operation anyway nowadays and highly regarded AFAIK is he not?Mito Man wrote: Wed May 13, 2020 9:39 pm I can’t see Mclaren ever getting out of the midfield with Zack at the helm.
Re: No F1 thread?
Look forward to seeing how Riccardo compares to Norris and Sainz compares to LeClerc.
Give it a few more days and I reckon Vettel will announce his retirement...

I think Ferrari have already done that...Marv wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 11:06 am Look forward to seeing how Riccardo compares to Norris and Sainz compares to LeClerc.

I like this chart on the BBC... Verstappen is up there already

Didn’t Verstappen assault Ocon too?
“ This lap 44 incident led to Verstappen and Ocon's fracas in the pits The stewards ruled Verstappen “made deliberate physical contact” by “starting an altercation, pushing or hitting Ocon forcefully several times in the chest”. They found he violated article 12.1.”

Is it not convicted or fined or something? I agree it’s shaky as reporting!

I'm sure some of his moves on Ric could be construed as deliberate collisions as well, especially the Baku one(s)Mito Man wrote: Thu May 14, 2020 11:28 am Didn’t Verstappen assault Ocon too?

Re: No F1 thread?
Just been on absolute 80’s news “it’s thought Fernando Alonso will take Ricciardo’s place at Renault”
Would tally with his career of shit decisions

Re: No F1 thread?
So the moves are now confirmed - Saint to Ferrari and Ricciardo to Mclaren. Will be interesting to see Ric vs Norris. Don’t think Sainz will trouble Leclerc too much though as I said earlier.

Re: No F1 thread?
No, he tried to but mechanics from both teams were in between. Trulli had a pop at someone after a crash, Was it Glock maybe?
Re: No F1 thread?
Hamilton doesn't even get a dot for aggressive driving?

Re: No F1 thread?
Massa circa 2008 might disagree with Hamilton not having a dot next to his name

Re: No F1 thread?
I remember watching that race live (live on the tellybox that is)

So come-on everyone - who was the at-fault-wonker here?

Re: No F1 thread?
It was an accident. racing incident. DC did what he was told over team radio and the pit wall got it slightly wrong. As a huge DC fan, then and now, I would be inclined to blame MS but he could barely see where he was going. I know there were arguments about how DC should have gone left then lifted and MS should have done this that and the other but for me it was conditions that caused it.
I am surprised one of the McLaren mechanics didn't knock MS on his arse though, always thought he was out of order, as did his own team, although I believe they made peace.

Re: No F1 thread?
But what will Vettel do? He’s rumoured to have said to some teams he isn’t interested in developing a car, he can’t possibly be holding out for Mercedes can he?!

Retiring into obscurity, only to be seen again at some random GP in 10 years time with everyone going “bloody hell what happened to Vettel”
