Nah, Lewis is going to become the future Niki at Mercedes in years to come. I don’t see anything in it for Lewis if he left for Ferrari, they need a lot of work to get themselves into a winning position.

It's about the pursuit of greatness. Winning for Ferrari (particularly since it's been so long since they won) will elevate him higher than winning more with Mercedes.
Let's face it, they've not had a bad car in recent years, he would have probably won a title in it.
Dunno, I'd just fancy it. I think he'll at least listen to their proposition for when the rules change.
He also talks a lot in recent years about relishing the challenge of the likes of MV and CL, I'm sure he'd love to take on CL in the same machinery.

Yep, unless Lewis knows something that we don't, with how Mercedes are going to be performing in the next few years compared to Ferrari, Mercedes seem the better bet to stick with.
Unless he wants to try and beat that young upstart Leclerc, or has dreamed of driving for Ferrari above winning the most championships evar.
I think other than the cachet of driving for Ferrari, they're a very difficult team to drive for, unless they all love you in the team and in Italy. Their recent history of producing cars capable of winning the WDC isn't exactly great either.

Re: No F1 thread?
You really think he’ll do it with Charles already there? I don’t...

I think in his later years he wants a challenge. He's talked a lot about wanting the other teams to close the gap so that he can go wheel to wheel with the young lads.Orange Cola wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 10:20 am You really think he’ll do it with Charles already there? I don’t...
Now whether Ferrari will want to upset CL or just build the team around him is another question.
Re: No F1 thread?
I don’t think he’ll do it for the racism alone. It’s Italy ffs.
How about not having a sig at all?

Would be interesting to see if they still boo him when he’s wearing redMito Man wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 10:24 am I don’t think he’ll do it for the racism alone. It’s Italy ffs.

Of course they won’t. But it would be an interesting parting shot if when he leaves F1 with numerous titles having not driven for Ferrari he says the racism from the Tifosi stopped him going there.

Another reason to put Hamilton off going, would he be bothered to learn Italian? I think it’s a requirement for driving for Ferrari

Re: No F1 thread?
Would he take a backseat to CL? Seems unlikely, and not exactly like his previous stint there was a huge success.

Probably just rumours and nothing more but have seen something claiming seb has already done his last race- Giovinazzi to move up from Alfa for whatever 2020 races happen before whoever gets the permanent drive joins

Shit, if so that's a genuine opportunity to put Kimi back in the car for a few races.jamcg wrote: Tue May 12, 2020 10:50 pm Probably just rumours and nothing more but have seen something claiming seb has already done his last race- Giovinazzi to move up from Alfa for whatever 2020 races happen before whoever gets the permanent drive joins
