Agreed. Probably less stupid than this leaked message. Who knows tho, old BJ might come up with a cunning plan.

It's not leaked, it's a pinned post on his Twitter feed.

What were you expecting?

"Yeah, its over, we're ending lockdown, everything back to normal" ?

Never going to happen.

Germany have had to start bringing restrictions back in after cases have started to rise again already.

South Korea which has been held up as a shining in how to deal with it has had to close all bars and nightclubs again after a spike in cases.

We're in it for the long haul, businesses need to find ways to adapt if they can. Anyone who thought it was all going to be over and back to normal after 3/6 weeks or whatever is living in cloud cuckoo land.

There's going to be a growing number of people who would rather die than go insane / bankrupt etc.

The South Korea clubber case is pretty crazy. Asymptomatic superspreaders are the problem.

That's right. A man gave other people a potentially life ending disease on a night out.

Has anyone died tho?

Old people are infuriating! Just had a call with my mum who said their street had a party on Friday (ok) and that her neighbours had laid on tables of drinks that you could help yourself to and baked cakes, but it’s ok, they handed them out to each other on a tennis racket... 🤦🏻‍♂️

There’s a couple of things that have come up over the past couple of weeks.

The model we are following developed by ic London and caused so much panic and karening has serious questions over its validity.
Firstly the code has not been peer reviewed and they will not release it and it’s parameters in full.
Secondly the disgraced team leader is connected to activists.
Thirdly when applied to Sweden (and their measure or lack there of) it predicted over 40k deaths at this stage, which is wildly inaccurate.

The nhs
We haven’t over run the hospitals, there have been no filmed packed out wards and people dying in corridors like we saw in Italy.
The nightingales have been shut having only taken a handful of patients.
Nurses seem to have so much time on their hands they are filling ticktock with dances.

At this stage going bankrupt could probably cause more harm that by starting relaxation of the restrictions, but it needs to be done sensibly.

Wasn't the reality of the nightingale hospitals that they were for when the NHS became overwhelmed? They'll end up being where all Covid-19 patients go so we can keep hospitals as free of the virus as possible and able to do what they do under normal circumstances. I'm sure there will be further waves of the virus over the next 12-18mths.

Absolutely right

Edit: Although nobody thanked Tony for overestimating the threat/existence of WMD

Wasn’t the reason that the nightingale hospitals aren’t being used that they expected hospitals to give up staff and equipment for them.

There were reports last week that the ones in London had been knocking back patients because they didn’t have nurses to look after them.

Agreed. Probably less stupid than this leaked message. Who knows tho, old BJ might come up with a cunning plan.
Given his record I think that’s highly unlikely
