Yay or nay?
I now have remote locking of my front forks and on the trails round here a few times I would have liked to have dropped or raised the seat but couldn't be arsed to stop and do it.

They’re absolutely great in action, though can be temperamental IME.
I have a RS reverb on my old specialized enduro, it works well but they need regular servicing or they stop working, and I have an e13 one on my YT which doesn’t work if you tighten the seat clamp enough to stop the seat twisting.
I wouldn’t recommend either. The Brand X ones are cheaper and seem to be well regarded.
Internal cabling is definitely worth doing if at all possible, as the external cables tend to rub on your frame as they are difficult to route well.

Definitely worth buying, it's one of those things that you don't know how you coped without before.
I had a Brand X Rich mentions on a previous bike and it was fine, not as slick as a Reverb but it isn't in the same price bracket. I had a Reverb on my last bike and had four faultless years from it but riding mates have had problems with theirs. Current bike has a Fox Transfer post which has been fine so far.

Cheers, There is something internally cabled, will have a look and see if anything else would easily route alongside.
I think the Brand-X seem to be around £120 which is not deadly. The Ascen model got 9/10 in a review I was just looking at as well.
Probably need to work out how the control thingy would fit on my handle bars...

Awesome things. I have the Specialized one on mine, the 'return' seems brutal but in practice it's really excellent. Was a bastard to fit on my bike, but that's because of the frame shape, but been flawless since fitting.

I have a tranz-x and it works well, it’s a cable port external model because my bike is older than droppers and it is also an odd diameter.
Both brand-x and specialized are both badged up trans-x models.
If you want full choice of models (wiggle and crc only have a subset of the full trans-x range) have a look at ridewill.it they had them all when I got mine.

They are good, but can have all the issues above. That said, my reverb has been perfect since the day I fitted it 3 years ago, although there is slight movement in the post fore and aft direction,but it's not noticable when riding.
You do have to adapt and remember having one though, as it's a hard habit to break. Many times I've slid off the saddle to overcome a drop or obstacle only to remember afterwards that I've a very expensive dropper post fitted!

Cheers fellas, will see once lock down as a couple of local friends have them fitted so will see how they are routed. My bike needs pads and a front disc so may get the shop to full service and see if they would fit the dropper post as it will probably cost peanuts and save me swearing and buggering it up! Brand X seems good so will have to work out what drop I want.
