BBQs
Re: BBQs
Feel like I should have got the one with the cupboard underneath (didn't care, I won't use it) because the lower shelf is an ideal height for the dachshunds to escape the patio; I've had to block them with old chairs and trellis

Re: BBQs
Exactly the same Duncs - they aren’t even in the same order, so when I went back to the app to double check the wiring route to the igniter switch, it was much later than in the paper instructions. And didn’t show anything more anyway
Deleted the app straight away.
Beany, my stepson has a big appetite, but we did end up with a few pieces of chicken left over.
Oh, it’s lovely to cook on. I didn’t even need to do a trial run; there was nothing which came off it leaving me thinking ‘I’ll do it differently next time’.

I’ve just looked back at your photo, Duncs, and realised you had the same trouble as me with that bloody sticker on the left hand side. It looked like it would just peel off. Spent far too long with WD40, picking at it with my fingernails to get rid of it completely

You only have one?!Jobbo wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 3:02 pm Of course, I found my gas bottle is getting low so I hope it lasts tonight![]()
The Evo forum really is a shadow of its former self. I remember when the internet was for the elite and now they seem to let any spastic on

Ha! Yeah, Weber really let themselves down with that sticker. I still haven't got round to taking the residue off.Jobbo wrote: Thu Apr 30, 2020 11:00 pm I’ve just looked back at your photo, Duncs, and realised you had the same trouble as me with that bloody sticker on the left hand side. Re: BBQs
I bought something similar to below. Cheap and reliable and I just leave it in the meat while in the oven or on the BBQ. A handy thing indeed.dinny_g wrote: Sat May 02, 2020 10:35 am Anyone recommendations on a wireless thermometer/probe??
I’m looking at the Weber iGrill2 because Weber...

Re: BBQs
Yeah you’re right. Only thing I’m not sure about is the thickness of the probe?
Fine in a beef joint but do you reckon it’d stick in a Chicken?? You would only insert it about an inch into the thickest part of the Breast part???
Re: BBQs
There's loads of clips of people using them on rotisserie chicken, spatchcock, chops, fillet steaks and so on.
If you were really pedantic about getting the tip of probe into the thickest part of breast just feed it in from pointy end of breast lol

Re: BBQs
True - that would work.
Reading Amazon Reviews though, the quality seems a bit iffy. The two ends are glued rather than screwed and softens etc.
Fuck it, buy once, buy right, buy Weber

Re: BBQs
I got one of these recently and it's great. One proble in the meat, one in the BBQ in the open
Also does great to tell me when a load of bread is cooked perfectly (90 deg C in the middle)
And you get a geeky chart to watch
