Yep, that diagram is exc. mirrors - official Lotus states width with mirrors is 1933mm.

Thanks for the info chaps. My car is 1960mm over the mirrors and I'm comfortable reversing into our built-in single garage which is 2600mm internal width. I like to know what might fit in if/when I change.

Might struggle on garage door width, but certainly have to rule it out on height.

Door girth + large sills are the killer. My Evora (which is the same width) will fit into my garage (2450mm) but I've got no chance of getting out.

Both cars washed, clayed and machine polished.

I'm absolutely fucked

Used 3m fast cut plus, then power washed and dried, then ultrafina se, then meguiars tech wax.

Machine speeds things up but the vibration and weight of the machine takes its toll a bit after 2 days.

Was only 60 quid including all the attachments though so I can't complain as it did the same job my old Meguiars DAS polisher did in the same time.

Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax is due to be delivered tommorow so will give another coat of tech was on each car then use the ceramic stuff.

Exige isn't as bad though, the extra width is in the arches, the doors and mid section aren't any wider than a standard skinny Elise, which although awkward to get in and out of, many people have in standard single garages.

Yep - and Elise/Exige doors are shorter as they aren’t 2+2.

Just back from an essential journey in Derbyshire. Saw what looked like a UFO coming towards me at light warp speed. As it drew closer it was Golf r like with a German plate which just happened to be one of my best friends.

Spent 6k on it and dynod 535 bhp on a new turbo. Detuned to 505 as he spends a lot of time abroad with shit fuel. Jesus its quick. Has 648 nm torque in current trim.

Can't wait to have a go.

So while we're doing the shiny Lotus thing, I spent a bit of time getting a a decent shine.... didn't realise how peppered the flanks were with detritus and grime, Intensive Tar Remover really earns its name. Could have done with going over with the clay but was running out of patience at that point and decided just to get it finished.

We are now up to our 5th Chevy/Daewoo Tacuma - only three of the previous ones were scrapped, one was sold My wife was hit yesterday by a chap in a Dodge Durango (you don't see many of those in the UK) which took the front end off her car but left his unscratched. So we have just bought a 28k miler and brought it home. The seller was very keen on the selling the mileage, but the lack of a cambelt change, non-working air-con and haywire remote locking etc meant we got 20% off the 'no offers' asking price as a result.

She had better not kill this one, because the country is running out of Tacumas. I have suggested she does one of those Facebook posts where you share photos of your car history because not only are they all the same model, they've been the same colour on the same wheels

Footnote for RichB: she delivers for Hermes and having a fairly worthless, reliable but spacious car is the prerequisite. I'm just pleased she has no real interest in cars and simply wants the same thing each time!
