Megane R26 ETOR

Post by scotta »

Megane went a couple of weeks ago. Guy came from Paisley and bought it.

Bought back in 2015 for £5700 with 60k on the clock

if wasnt the best of starts if im honest after picking it up it was clear the swivel bearings were buggered so a £500 bill off the bat stung a bit. Had i know what i know now about these cars i probably wouldnt have bought it. After that we discovered the AC didnt work so that was another £200 bill for a condenser.

The car was bought to replace the Mrs Mini that she didnt like. She then decided after we bought it that she wasn't overly keen on this one either and moaned about it for the 3 years we owned it.

once we sorted the initial thing though the car was pretty well sorted. I put some decent rubber on it and had a couple of good runs in it - highlight being a run up north for a weekend stay.

Driving wise it was plenty quick and with the milltek sounded pretty fruity without being overly loud. Headlights were fvcking awful so i put a set of HID bubls in it which made a massive differnce. I upgraded the speakers as well as the standard ones are shite.

all in after 3 ish years we decided that due to getting the other dog we needed a bigger car so it went.

We replaced it with the F31 touring - in this thread http://forums.ov9.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f ... 6090#p6090

I only ever saw you driving it the day you picked it up.

I guess it suffered from being less interesting / fast than the others in you “fleet”

When we bought it I only had the diesel FR so drove it a good bit. Then The golf arrived followed by the lotus and I lost interest.

The golf just did everything better.
