I could be wrong, but I think they’re actually referring to oil futures, not the current spot price.

It’s for WTI - see the intraday chart

US crude otherwise hovering around 20 still.

Wonderful to see that our government has arranged to get PPE from those delightful dictatorships, Turkey and Myanmar

However it’s still utterly brutal!

I don’t suppose you have access to a spare million gallon oil tank, do you?Foz wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 9:39 pmCorrect.NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Apr 20, 2020 8:35 pmI could be wrong, but I think they’re actually referring to oil futures, not the current spot price.

Bins have just been emptied. That's 12-14 four pint bottles gone (collections have been missed for quite a while). I should have saved them and sold the storage capacity on the open market!

Re: Coronavirus
Are they quoting total death figures yet?

Quite a rise of late then. Good to see they are looking at it this way at last. Makes it more real for people.

The silly thing with this argument is that if we don’t stick with it now until we’re sure we have a handle on it, we’re just increasing the likelihood that we’ll have to do it again.Broccers wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:02 pmAgree mate but we can't live like this for much longerRich B wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:53 pmThe obvious danger of that sort of reporting is people will just fob it off aS not being any worse that a flu outbreak 20 years ago.Broccers wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 12:11 pm

Re: Coronavirus
What really surprises me is how little time many companies can weather a problem like this.
I would have thought any reasonable company could handle a problem like this for 3 months or so but they just can’t. Is this an example of how bad companies are run or how little they earn in percentage terms compared to their profits ?
Dave!

Re: Coronavirus
It's apparent that the handle is to be able to cope with large amount of deaths as that seems more likely than someone pulling a vaccine out of a hat.ZedLeg wrote: Tue Apr 21, 2020 1:11 pmThe silly thing with this argument is that if we don’t stick with it now until we’re sure we have a handle on it, we’re just increasing the likelihood that we’ll have to do it again.
