Re: Coronavirus
Random request but the hive mind of this place can give surprising results....
Team can obviously no longer get together once a week so they’re looking for some quiz or something which can be sent out and done over the week, scouts honour there will be no cheating etc. Something simple like those “guess the movie from emoji” things. Any ideas?

The Mrs and I are quite enjoying Jimmy Carr's little quiz of the lockdown on Youtube at 6 every evening and he puts up the answers at 8. They only go for 5 min and he's compiled each week in a 40min long bit too.Ascender wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2020 11:36 pm Random request but the hive mind of this place can give surprising results....

Some people surfing.
Re: Coronavirus
(1) You didn’t post that link when you were talking about people going to Cornwall.
(2) It doesn’t say people are going to Cornwall to surf.
(3) Surfing is exercise, which is expressly encouraged.
Broccers, apply some sort of logical process to your thinking.

Some people should not be surfing.

Lots of news articles to back up what I was saying. Anyhoo lets concentrate on how long do we think this will go on for? People spreading it won't help reduce that time.
Re: Coronavirus
Don’t ever base your arguments on articles from the Daily Mail
Re: Coronavirus
I’m confused, wasn’t broccers saying this is all a fuss about nothing a few pages ago?

Have you got an unrelated local news link and anecdotal story to prove this Broccers?

I'm suspecting the tabloid bullshit bingo words for this week are "flocked" and "flouted"
"If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough"
Re: Coronavirus
We’re still doing scout meetings with the kids over zoom, last week we did a quiz over it- decide how your answer sheets should be formatted so everyone writes them out the same- you can even make it into a PowerPoint and screen share it across everyone- as soon as the final question is asked get them to send a photo of their answers to a WhatsApp group, check answers and issue a winner etcAscender wrote: Mon Apr 13, 2020 11:36 pm Random request but the hive mind of this place can give surprising results....

Re: Coronavirus
Its all getting very political now isn't it?
You have to wonder how much of the fascination on the plan for existing lockdown is down to concerns about the economy and how much of it is just point-scoring.

Re: Coronavirus
The government is going to have to make some very difficult decisions in the next few weeks and months. There will come a crossover point where the economic impact is worse than the virus but it’ll be a tough choice to make and get right.
