Yeah I think its supposed to be the first stage but it seemed to do the full job pretty well

DA arrives on thursday so they'll be getting a full polish this week as well

I'm a lazy git and use it as a quick wash. Wet car, foam on, leave for 5 minutes whilst doing other car and then wash off.

I don't even get a mitt out half the time.

I just like getting a white mess all over the car.

I use it with a ceramic top coat. Snowfoam, let it dwell, spray hybrid ceramic shite on, dry with a waffle weave towel. Takes 20 mins and looks great.

Is it the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic you use? Is it any good?

Massive amount of pollen already, my cars are already covered in a layer of the stuff, even in the garage. I need to a hermetically sealed garage.

Did one of the rear ones this afternoon, went a bit further this time and took the arch liner out to give the arch lips a proper clean.


The liner is one of those fluffy carpet style ones which no amount of scrubbing would get all the strands of grass and straw out of. Like trying to get dog hair out of a boot carpet!

Tried a little brass wire brush and it worked amazingly, obviously got to be careful near the edges as you don't want to touch paint with it.


Couple of bits starting to look a little crusty, but nothing that's going to cause any concern for a good few years yet.

Carpet style jobbies do work well to reduce nvh from rear wheel wells.

My missus just asked if I had a pressure washer as “will it damage the paintwork not having the cars cleaned for a while”.

This is the woman who’d happily not have her car washed in 6 months or more if it wasn’t for me taking it!

It depends on what type of snow foam you buy. I have a PH neutral one which is designed to dislodge the worst of the muck and act as a lubricant when washing to help reduce swirl marks.

There are snow foams which will strip everything off the car, wax, bugs, tar - literally everything. They're often confused as a simple good washing product and people don't put any protection back on afterwards e.g. wax. I can't be bothered re-waxing the car every time I clean it when I've got a decent wax which lasts up to 12 months anyway.

On a side note I'm going to be trying the Meguiars ceramic hybrid wax on top of my existing wax to see what it's like.

I really need to clean ours - I've spent pretty much 3 weeks gardening so far, and keep finding things to do.

I need a new foam lance though so might order the ECP one - the old one I have completely failed last time and just pissed all the product out

I also have some Megs. Hybrid Ceramic to use as well, after a recommendation from JL what seems like years ago now.

But before that I might see if I can get some wet and dry ordered - I've a few stone chips on the bonnet of the 330 that are starting to look a bit rusty. I have a touch up and laquer, just not the sandpaper.

I don't think there can be much of the original car left at this point, so I've thinking about swapping it for something else, the only candidate (other than a newer model Smart car) is a Toyota iQ, does anyone have any experience with them? I'd probably go for the 1.33 with the auto/CVT box.
