Boris is in hospital with it. I hope for his sake and ours he pulls through, we don’t need any more deaths or Gove to be in charge.

You’ll be pleased to know she’s resigned.Simon wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 7:26 pm Scotland's CMO has to go doesn't she? What an entitled bitch she is, preaching about what's important whilst flagrantly breaching the rules on 2 separate weekends.
What a shit show - apparently excellent at her job she’s been forced to resign for going to her other house - not meeting anyone or socialising - due to media pressure. During what must be a massively stressful time and she undoubtedly needed some down time. News broken by the Scottish Sun who assigned a photographer to follow her and drag up any dirt that they could use to sell more of their rags.
Re: Coronavirus
I don’t think I’ve yet seen a graph which shows the number of deaths plateauing in any country, even South Korea.

And Sturgeon is doing herself no favours at all by now she’s handled this. Her snidey comment about Scotland compared to “the UK” a couple of days ago was a pretty petty thing to do at a time like this.
Of course, looking at social media, it’s difficult to get any sort of reasoned debate, because “Prince Charles did the same” and “independent an aw that”.
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Coronavirus
I thoughts she’d been there twice in the last week or so? All the time while telling people to avoid unnecessary travel.mik wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:13 pmYou’ll be pleased to know she’s resigned.Simon wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 7:26 pm Scotland's CMO has to go doesn't she? Not sure if the Sun would have been tailing her (it’s unlikely just now isn’t it?) or if she’s been dobbed-in by a member of staff or public?
Cheers,
Mike.

Re: Coronavirus
Reading the headline it says she was visiting her second home, but reading the actual article on the Beeb she was returning to her main family home at weekends which is an hour outside of Edinburgh, then living in another home in Edinburgh during the week to do her work.mik wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:13 pmYou’ll be pleased to know she’s resigned.Simon wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 7:26 pm Scotland's CMO has to go doesn't she? So she could have been living in that home and commuting every day to her essential work in Edinburgh and everyone would have been happy.

Yes, she managed not to catch it. Unlike England’s CMO who has got it, and therefore either gave bad advice or didn’t take it.mik wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:26 pm So she could have been living in that home and commuting every day to her essential work in Edinburgh and everyone would have been happy.
Re: Coronavirus
Interesting that Matt Hancock was only in isolation for a week after getting it. Seems to stay with people for varying amounts of time given BoJo has had it longer than that.
Re: Coronavirus
Prince Charles, about a week there, Mikel arteta and Callum Hudson-odoi, both only about 3 days before they felt fine again.duncs500 wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2020 6:22 am Interesting that Matt Hancock was only in isolation for a week after getting it. Re: Coronavirus
I'm more talking about the being allowed out and about though, implies that it doesn't necessarily stay contagious long after symptoms have gone.
Re: Coronavirus
Well the WHO say you need to isolate for 2 weeks after getting symptoms.
How about not having a sig at all?

The nhs isolation note only lasts for a week from getting symptoms and say you can go out again when you feel well again.
It lasts 14 days if someone else in your household has symptoms to give time for those symptoms to develop in others.

There are signs that Italy and Spain's figures have started to level off or are dropping slightly, but too early to draw any real conclusions.Jobbo wrote: Sun Apr 05, 2020 10:15 pm I don’t think I’ve yet seen a graph which shows the number of deaths plateauing in any country, even South Korea.
China is the only place which really seems to have levelled off, but who knows what's really going on over there?
Cheers, Harry
Re: Coronavirus
So you're basically contagious before and during symptoms, but once you feel well again you're not going to spread it. That's not too bad. It's really the early days of infection that seem to do the damage in terms of spreading it.integrale_evo wrote: Mon Apr 06, 2020 9:07 am The nhs isolation note only lasts for a week from getting symptoms and say you can go out again when you feel well again.

Re: Coronavirus
I am still alive. My symptoms were the cough and fever. It was not pleasant but I consider myself very, very lucky that my viral load appears to have been extremely low.
