Thanks all. Not too worried for her, kids aren't badly affected as you say, but wife's patients are a different matter. We'll see.

It's because they don't have so many of 'something' in the lungs for the virus to attach to, I half-heard last week.

In this crazy time, it's easy to forget there's still regular bugs going round. Me and the wife have had a sore throat on and off for a week or so. No idea what's trying to get in, but we feel fine otherwise. That said, we've stayed away from everyone we want to live

Best of luck to you all.
Cheers.

Hope all OK, DJ and best wishes for your wife at this difficult time.

Just been announced that 8,000 private hospital beds and 1,200 respirators now being made available. I’m sure that extra capacity will be soaked up almost instantaneously in what’s to come but it’s something at least.

Just flicked through the tv, one of the shopping channels is peddling 100ml hand sanitizer for £7.99 + £2.99 p&p. The list of who'll be first against the wall is lengthening.

Same here, had a slightly groggy throat for a week or so and a mild headache for slightly longer. No signs of anything chesty or a cough, temperature bang on 36.5 every time I've measured it, no muscle aches, fatigue, tiredness etc.

Still been keeping away from people, being extra careful with hand hygene and being more aware of what I touch.

I wonder how many people are quarantining for something that's not corona and will assume that they've already had it and start lowering standards / ignoring advice on preventing the spread etc.
Cheers, Harry

Oh and another thing ( ), we've had a war on speeding, war on littering, there's always a war on against something (climate change?), wtf is the war on coronavirus? Many grew up hearing about the war spirit or being told 'that wasn't the attitude that won us the war', and if they didn't they've definitely seen The History Channel. Wtf has happened to all the 'Keep Calm and...' from a couple of years back? Is there any sign of any of it now? Is there fuck. There's far too much political impotent left-handed drywanking going on too (not just here but around the world [/Parsons]), probably because the smug tuggers think they're invulnerable having been indoctrinated to wash their hands of the whole affair. Ffs, none of them has even said the obvious 'now is the spring of our disconnect'

Cheers, all. She's fine this morning, back to normal temps, but still have to follow protocol, so in isolation at least until test results are back (Wednesday by the looks of it).

There's clearly other bugs out there with similar symptoms, or perhaps there's people panicking (naturally) or maybe both. I've now heard of two people locally who've been hospitalised with covid symptoms, only to test negative and be sent home.
Cheers,

Mike.

My friend thought he had corona (dry cough and temperature) but he got over it in 2 days so probably not and probably won’t ever know.
How about not having a sig at all?

I think they're working on procuring a test for the presence of the antibodies so you'll see if you've had it.

In other news, my elderly neighbours have family round today for mother's Day. Fools.

Video call done with mum and taken tue opportunity of the nice weather to get some gardening done. Going to have to take the grass clippings to the tip though as just found out our council are suspending green bin collections until further notice.

Reasoning is coronavirus but they've been getting fairly shit all round over the last 12 mo - outsourcing ftw - so more likely just an easy excuse.
