Strange today. Work has just stopped. Phones not ringing or being answered. It's all very spooky. I might sack the rest of the week off and start again on Monday in the hope everything and everyone has calmed the fuck down.
Cheers.

Yesterday the bank I'm working for took double the amount of calls they'd normally get on their busiest day of the year and looks like its going to beat that total today.
Cheers,

Mike.

And just had an email from Costco - petrol is down to 99p. All my predictions are coming true.

I went for a walk earlier and I suddenly realised how quiet it was. I live near the flight path for Liverpool airport. It’s not particularly noisy but you hear planes going by usually and there were none. You can also normally hear the faint traffic noise from the Mersey Gateway bridge, just the roar of tyres and the thumps of the expansion joints way off in the background. Normally you don’t even really notice it’s there. But I noticed it wasn’t there today. It sounded too quiet without that faint background noise.

Still doesn't seem much different here. Still old people pottering about.

Traffic on the way to work for 2pm was a little lighter, but seemed to be 90% oaps driving 10mph under any speed limit so actually took longer than normal!

On a totally non scientific basis, it seems like there's more traffic than normal heading across the county, wondered if people were getting out of the cities to their holiday retreats.

I've noticed the same - for us it would be MAN airport. And we tend to get a bit of noise from the A56 through Sale as well.

Eerily quiet last night though.

Today has confirmed to me one thing which I pretty much always knew anyway - I could not be a teacher. Fvck me, he's actually reasonably well behaved but I'd had my fill by lunchtime! This is going to be a fun few months

I've not taken any new jobs on this week. I'm expecting not to be paid for a long time for the jobs billed. I'll try and pay the suppliers at the same time too. Good luck.

I see that F1 teams are looking to see how they can assist with ventilator supplies. Makes so much sense given how they are able to react quickly to needing to produce parts. Bung em the designs and tell them to crack on.

I want a 3D printed, wind-tunnel tested, carbon fibre ventilator.

Is that down to the shutdown of FlyBe though? I know Southampton airport has been decimated by that. About 5 flights a day now from other airlines..

I'm by Gatwick and that's noticeably quiter though. Looking at the live departure boards online I'd say just over half the flights are cancelled.

I live under the Heathrow flightpath and it’s much more quiet. The heliport is opposite and I haven’t heard anything take off or land in hours.
Took the dawg for a walk in Hyde park last night, eerily quiet for London, like walking in a village.

No, we didn’t have much Flybe traffic. Liverpool is mainly Ryanair and EasyJet and they’re scaling back flights by about 75%

Rev you nob - we aren’t a million miles from the flight path for Glasgow Airport. I just read this and highlighted your point to the family over dinner. “When was the last time you heard a plane?” I enquired.

In their pondering silence I was like “hang on” :? as the noise increased and a twin prop passenger airliner went past....

There’s some bizarre events happening as a result of this:

- My sister is a teaching assistant at the school her kids are at, her husband isn’t a keyworker. So she’ll be going to school and her kids won’t!

- my mum is in Spain and the police came to her hotel to and made them separate the sun loungers - so her and her husband had to have a 2m+ gap between their sun beds, before going back their room with a double bed!

- I stupidly went to a H&S course today, one of the other people On the course was coughing so I pulled the (ex-HSE inspector) course leader aside and asked why he wasn’t removing him. He told me that earlier he checked the cougher’s temp (with a fucking infrared thermometer Designed for checking machine temps!!) and he had no fever so it obviously wasn’t corona. I pulled the 3 of us out of the course and reported it.
