Always winds me up when sellers describe a car as "very clean". What, so you washed it so that cancels out the dents, scratches and rust?

Clean usually refers to condition as well as meaning not dirty.

I know but the point is that clean is not a term you can use to describe an items condition.

And yet people have used it to describe condition since forever...

Mispronouncing a word isn’t the same a using as word to mean something other than its original use. Language changes all the time. The dictionary reflects actual usage, it doesn’t proscribe it.

Never heard of a clean fight or describing their license as being clean? It doesn't meant they've given their photocard a wash 😂

Just another sheepskin coat phrase - it’s not as though you’d ever believe a word of what is said in a used car advert anyway!

Local shitheap dealer has a massive sign on their forecourt - “cars bought for cash”.
What a relief, at least it’s not peanuts.

I nearly like this;

Less wordy stickerage would help.
