People that don't eat the knobby
Re: People that don't eat the knobby
If it's still in the cupboard at the end of the week it goes into a pudding (for desert) whether crusty, knobby, gratey or crunchy.

They’ve obviously become interchangeable in my head for some reason.

The crusts are either full of cheese or are dipped into a garlic sauce.Matty wrote: Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:10 pmwhy eat the crusts when you can have more of the tasty, tasty filling?
The crust is an extra to pack out any space not yet filled with meat and cheese.

One is a nonsensical troll who gives off intimations of homophobia, sexism, racism, generally being a bit dim, and unironically thinks they're trolling rather than just making themselves look like an utter idiot.NotoriousREV wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 5:36 amThey’ve obviously become interchangeable in my head for some reason.
The other is Evostick. You can tell the difference because Evostick is quite funny.

Hang on a minute, crusts? That's the bit that goes around the outside of perimeter of a slice of bread right?
Cheers,
Mike.

Yup, crusts are entirely separate part of the loaf. Is this the new Mole colour thread?Ascender wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 9:41 am Hang on a minute, crusts? That's the bit that goes around the outside of perimeter of a slice of bread right?
Re: People that don't eat the knobby
Knobby is for a loaf, knobby end is for a french stick (patoo) and must be slathered one butter and enjoyed while making your baguette.

No idea what you two are on about. The outside of bread is the crust...

Re: People that don't eat the knobby
That's correct. But when sliced the two ends are the heels. Which are covered in crust, but are never called the crusts. As that's the bits round the outside of the other slices of bread.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2020 10:22 amNo idea what you two are on about. The outside of bread is the crust...
And what's this about moles?

Never heard of it, although Google seems to be full of it. So crikey, the things you learn. I've always called it a crust, so there ya go.

So I guess this thread isn't about Philip Schofield then.

I’ve always called the two crusty ends of a sliced loaf “tank tracks”.

I've always been a bit renegade and called them "crusts".Jobbo wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 6:42 am I’ve always called the two crusty ends of a sliced loaf “tank tracks”.

Regardless of the name, can we all agree that if you go to a greasy spoon for a full fry up and you get one as your slice of fried bread you e hit the jackpot?

They do behave exactly like tank tracks, but only when laid out to their full length.Jobbo wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 6:42 am I’ve always called the two crusty ends of a sliced loaf “tank tracks”.

Quite the opposite in my view; the crust makes the best toast, but it’s not absorbent enough to make good fried bread.jamcg wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 8:21 am Regardless of the name, can we all agree that if you go to a greasy spoon for a full fry up and you get one as your slice of fried bread you e hit the jackpot?

No, I'd send it back.jamcg wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 8:21 am Regardless of the name, can we all agree that if you go to a greasy spoon for a full fry up and you get one as your slice of fried bread you e hit the jackpot?
Re: People that don't eat the knobby
I call it the knob end, or crust, but I've never heard the term knobby before.
