People that don't eat the knobby
People that don't eat the knobby
What's wrong with them?
Personally I find that the extra cohesive strength afforded by the layer of crust allows for greater loading of peanut butter & honey on the soft side.
So many times I shove an explorative fist into the bag and it goes all the way in before I find two rejected knobbies at the bottom.
Weirdoes don't know what they're missing out on.

None of the rest of the family will touch the outsiders.
I find them an interesting alternative toasted; but usually the dogs end up with them.

I don't eat them as they keep the loaf fresher. They're the last two slices to be eaten - always toasted.
Funny, I'm here 23 years and I've never heard the expression knobby (I had to look it up - carefully) They're called the Heal as far as I'm concerned.

I thought this would be a thread about a recent dating experience
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: People that don't eat the knobby
dowpies pronounced dow (as in jones) peas. My big brother loved them so I wouldn't have ever got one as a kid. I never eat them but my little lad loves them.

You're all talking about the crusts yeah?
And no, they get left until last then torn into chunks and scattered for the birds.

Glad it's not just me!
I love 'em toasted. It's always me that eats them in our house. Mind, the wife starts on the next loaf once we're about halfway through one.
I'd contend the point about them keeping the loaf fresh - the one at the open end is the one exposed to all the microbes in the air and on your hands so the more contact it has, the more it's likely to spread to the rest of the loaf and make the loaf go off. Plus, the placcy bag will do enough of a job of keeping the loaf from drying out...

I hadn’t heard the expression before - I think Tim is trying to ignite another Barm Cake-esque discussion, but I wasn’t rising to it.

Crusts are for the bin. Same with Pizzas crusts.

Crusts. Toasted.
I had two this morning in fact. Toasted, with cheese and a good sprinkle of salt, then microwaved so the cheese goes soft & gooey.
A really crude pizza basically.

'Bloke girls into a fish and chip shop and talks to the girl behind the counter:
{Bloke} "I'd like a sausage and chips please to take out"
[Girl} "Would you like your sausage battered?"
{Bloke} "No! Would you like your fanny slapped?"'
