Toyota GR Yaris
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
This must be the first ‘real’ rally special since EVO/Impreza?
I like it.

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I think they’ve got to make 25,000 of these worldwide next year to qualify for rally regs, so the price should be lower than you’d expect- that’s mass production compared to homologation specials of old
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Surely it’s going to be £40k?

I'll make a prediction - it'll be incredibly quick and grippy but ultimately a bit anodyne.

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
This is the sort of semi affordable car that piques my interest and I think the last car to do that was the Clio v6. Be interesting to see what other manufacturers do.

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Needs another 50bhp to be properly quick, I reckon. At its weight and power it’ll be not much quicker than a mid-90s Impreza.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:46 am I'll make a prediction - it'll be fairly quick and grippy but ultimately a bit anodyne.

The bigger issue is that it looks like a fucking Yaris.
How about not having a sig at all?

Last two comments sum it up for me I’m afraid.

Yeah, it's cool it's being built, but I don't particularly want one.

The GRMN was quite well received so I think the new car would be a fun car also.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:46 am I'll make a prediction - it'll be incredibly quick and grippy but ultimately a bit anodyne.
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Consider me surprised at the price. I wonder if they’re intending to sell it in some numbers?

£30k ain't bad for a 260hp 4wd hot hatch on a semi custom platform.Jobbo wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2020 12:58 pm Consider me surprised at the price. I wonder if they’re intending to sell it in some numbers?
Re: Toyota GR Yaris
Plus £3.5k for a couple of LSDs, maybe some differently tuned suspension and a set of MPS4Ss.
Looks very interesting...

Re: Toyota GR Yaris
I have to say, at £30k it becomes a little more interesting, especially with the circuit pack.

Love the power understeer on the first attempt to get the back loose - not quite enough of a flick there.
Does donuts though, gets my seal of approval.

Presumably it’s still in camo so it looks less like a Yaris
