Post by Mr Pish »

i just want the basic specs, why is this so hard to find now

it was bad enough trying to find the battery size on the outlander PHEV but then i went on the merc PHEV page AGHHHHHHHHH  or the mini cuntryman PHEV :!: :!: :!:

Agree - most of them are hateful.

After poking around a 720S the other week I had an idle look on the McLaren website to see how much they were. After 10mins of hunting I jumped onto PH sales instead.....

(PS - they answer was way way way way way way too much for me :) )

A lot of the websites for the car manufacturer's that I've worked with are internally owned by the marketing departments, and as such they lack the technical detail that most of us would enjoy. A couple of them are moving that function to the IT department, which is just as 'wrong' IMO.

The confugurators are always shit. One thing that really fucking annoys me is the use of renderings in place of actual photographs so the cars on the website never look anything like they do in real life so you're reliant on having to go and seek out the particular colour/finish/material on an actual car.

I was looking at the Velar a few weeks back, as well as all the different shades of grey and silver looking exactly the same on the renderings and the interior finishes being completely discernible there were no prices listed anywhere. Pointless.

So much this. Although maybe there is a reason for it...

Mercedes' website has been pissing me off lately. You just cannot find anything. Bastard awful design.

https://ev-database.uk/ has useful stuff like that.

Capacity is less important than actual range though - NEDC (or now WLTP) ranges are better for comparing between them.
