Nice collection. You mention that the Spider rides better than the Coupe, but any idea why that is? McLaren's advantage over Ferrari for a long time was its carbon tub, so Spiders often lost little rigidity. I'd have thought that the result would be that the suspension could be carried over without changes.

I really have no idea. My guess is two more years of development and tweaking have further improved the suspension.

That is quite lovely, I shall have to move from the "720's are cack eye'd mongrels" camp to the "In the right colour 720s are pretty striking"

Excellent SWMBO maths at play there too!

Those rear alloys are a sculptural thing of beauty.

I was chatting to a chap last week who said he was planning to buy a 570. He said they're becoming good value and that they aren't as unreliable as the MP4-12C. So I reminded myself what they looked like and they actually seem relatively attractive. Not sure I'd buy one myself, but if they really are effectively the supercar which Lotus should have made, I can see them becoming quite popular.

I was surprised at the price of used 570s, much cheapness.

720S is lovely 8-)

In this scenario the McLaren 720S Coupe was almost always getting passed over in favor of the McLaren 675LT Spider or the 650S Spider. When it came to the coupes currently in the garage, all things aren’t exactly equal and the 720S Coupe, as good as it is, rarely was getting the call over the Ferrari F40 or McLaren Senna.
What a sentence to be able to utter. 8-)

Will the 650 or 675 get a look in now you have the 720S Spider?

Absolutely. 675LT Spider might just be my favorite McLaren and the 650S Spider is still my DD.

It’s interesting that 675LT is close to £300k still thus more expensive than 720.

What surprised me most is the cheapest Senna is ‘merely’ £750k whereas the cheapest P1 is still close to £1 million.
