There’s no debate. Duck Tape is the original and is a registered brand name. Duct tape is a generic term used by other manufacturers to avoid trademark infringement. Duct tape was never designed for ducts, or Ducks.mik wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2019 10:44 amJB Weld
And now you’ve gone and opened the debate about Duck Tape vs Duct Tape.

I'll be even more delighted if they make it back out of 4-figures.mik wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2019 8:02 am I’m convinced they’ll go supersonic and beat the current record.

Interesting that the aim is now 'just to break the current record', rather than aim for 1000mph:

I think with their new investor on board they’re taking it one realistic step at a time to show progress and encourage more investment. Stating 1,000mph was possibly their undoing because people’s expectations were for the car to come out the blocks very quickly so when that didn’t happen progress appeared slow.Simon wrote: Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:01 pm Interesting that the aim is now 'just to break the current record', rather than aim for 1000mph:
I think it’s a smart move and 1,000mph could be back on the table at some point in the future but there’s still a long way to go to get there.

I'm not sure. IIRC the EJ200 in the car doesn't have that many hours left on it, so I'm not sure how many more runs they could realistically do.

It’s “””””on loan””””” so I’m pretty sure they’ve got a plan to either over haul it or replace it. It always came across as a convenient ‘spare’ unit with a bit of life left in it which they could “borrow” for the car. It’ll probably get scrapped or put in a museum when the time comes.

I’d love to see this succeed, but have no idea who could fund it, or how they might recoup something other than pride from their investment?

I guess it's just the huge amount of uncertainty - £8m could easily become £25m. Then there's the fact you're funding an out of fashion fuel source. It's now (hopefully) just a big folly for a private investor.

Just bring around £12mill for the privilege.
Better get in quick before all the offers start flooding them.

£12 million and likely a one way ticket. Perhaps even a deal worse than going on a submarine to visit the titanic.
