You would think it would be pretty odds on for a custodial (if suspended) sentence for that sort of misdemeanor in such a serious accident.

If you look through the sentencing guidelines, however, you'll see how skewed things are towards trying to free up prison space... err, sorry - move towards a non-incarceration rehabilitation model: https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/of ... ised-2017/

Still looks like it would be a "Category 1" offence given he knew or should have known the driver of the other car would be injured to some extent (even if minor) and the extent of damage caused.

Interestingly the vid on the fails website is pre-chicken Korma so clearly a local knuckle dragger just lobbed it as they were walking past.
