Google phones.
Ok I know the Pixel 4 is due in a couple of days and I’m sure it will be a fortune. What I’m wondering is do they discontinue the current phone straight away or do they reduce the price? My S8 is fucked and need a good replacement.
Re: Google phones.
I picked up a brand new, sealed Pixel 3 from eBay a few months ago for £400
It's worth having a nosey about for something similar IMO
(rather than hoping for a discount direct from Google, although I'm sure there will be one, I'm pretty sure it won't be as good value as buying from eBay say)
The Pixel 3 is a really good phone BTW (a little old looking/feeling with the bezels etc) but a brilliant camera/software, stock Android + updates etc, and, well £400

Re: Google phones.
I've a pixel 2 XL and it's awesome. I've had it 2yrs now and will be keeping it for quite sometime yet. I think Google are due a price drop due to the 4 coming out but worth checking other sources as mentioned above.
Re: Google phones.
They do tend to overlap new and "existing" phones for a while. Note Google can be quite shitty with model support and new Android OS's, I think they only guarantee 2 years?
Still, I got a brand new Pixel 3a for £280 (after cashback and selling the Chromebook I got with it) and I'm more than pleased with it. Spot on size for me, and despite it being a "slow" CPU, it does everything I need. Cracking camera too.

Re: Google phones.
Well my Pixel '1' XL got Android 10, so that's 3 years of OS updates, and it continues to get security updates. That's pretty good IMO.Matty wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 12:58 am They do tend to overlap new and "existing" phones for a while. Re: Google phones.
Same here. Still performing well, camera still the awsum. Battery still more than enough for a days average use. Two days actually, but I tend to charge over night anyway.
Re: Google phones.
Outgoing model should be a prime candidate for Black Friday discounts, if you can flog your old phone until then it's probably worth waiting. That's what I'm doing anyway.
Re: Google phones.
Mine has problems but looking on ebay they are still going for around £100
Re: Google phones.
Ah, I misunderstood, I've been trying to make it last but it keeps dropping calls or turning off the notification volume randomly and I rely on it for work. New Google phone launches tomorrow so I'll see what happens with the prices of the current one.
Re: Google phones.
So I've gone all in, and like 3 years ago ordered a (4) XL 128GB in black. Should be with me in 2 weeks. I also qualify for a free HP Chromebook too, which is nice (or will get sold on ebay - we'll see).

Re: Google phones.
I love my google phone and will get another. Pure Android is so much nicer than Samsung's version.
