Ah yes. The boost test in the old 900 on my "private drag strip".

Beside, it doesn't count if you keep rolling and style it out...
Re: CTIIRWOIWAHO
To be fair, that's in part because the Westfield's been stuck in the garage for aaaaages...

I spent a fair amount of this morning figuring out whether you could get a Vauxhall Chevette to run a 10 second quarter mile with a crate LS engine. The answer is "probably", using the LS376/525 motor.

There was a Chevy Chevette running low tens with wheel stands at drag week this year. I'm not sure what was in it though.
Found it on line and it's running an N/A 427 big block.

While skiving this morning I found out that you can get a base model F-150 with a Coyote or a base model Dodge Ram with a Hemi for around $30k + taxes, I want one.
Apparently cheapest spec 2wd with the V8 isn't a very popular option for some reason.

I remembered that The Netherlands is a relatively cheap source of Chevrolet Caprice station wagons and 80s Ford Thunderbird 5.0s. This changes everything

So, having not bought mid-80s American junk from Holland, I spent far too much of my time thinking about how awesome an Austin 1800 Landcrab would be on airbags and with some kind of modern engine swap and nice wheels. Or possibly an early Princess with the same treatment.

Can you define "awesome" in this context?NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 9:30 am So, having not bought mid-80s American junk from Holland, I spent far too much of my time thinking about how awesome an Austin 1800 Landcrab would be on airbags and with some kind of modern engine swap and nice wheels. So for the Princess, I’d fit Wolfrace slot mags and I reckon the engine out of a 9th gen Chevy Impala SS could be persuaded to fit (transverse mounted 5.3 LS V8 and fwd auto box). AWESOME.

Someone needs to stage an intervention. This poor chap has clearly had too much access to search engines and mind altering drugs.NotoriousREV wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 10:17 am So for the Princess, I’d fit Wolfrace slot mags and I reckon the engine out of a 9th gen Chevy Impala SS could be persuaded to fit (transverse mounted 5.3 LS V8 and fwd auto box). Yes that sounds truly and utterly awful. Thankfully it'll never happen so it's OK.

Any old bl tat that used hydrolastic / hydragas should be pretty easy to airbag, as the displacers never form a structural part of the suspension, just control the height.
