Re: No F1 thread?
How did HAM set the fastest lap on worn Hard tyres!? Is the Merc that much better than the others?
Cheers,

Comfortably lead for the last part of the race so able to use them gently then push hard when the car was at its lightest? I dunno, just guessing.IanF wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2019 5:26 pm How did HAM set the fastest lap on worn Hard tyres!? Is the Merc that much better than the others?![]()
Re: No F1 thread?
That was a brilliant race.
The only live/full race I'll see all year and it was a cracker!

That was a brilliant race. Seb needs to go, he’s not even renowned for developing a car and therefore wouldn’t be much use in a lower team where you know, he’d have much more hard racing, so my vote is all the way out. Let someone else in to have a chance, LeClerk is walking all over him at 3 points down on SV in the standings and that’s with Ferrari backing SV.

Re: No F1 thread?
Well... that was stunning. Amazing racing, vettel committing another huge blunder and punting Verstappen airborne and an incredible drive from LeClerc. Lewis clinching another all time record. Easily the best race this year by a country mile.
Re: No F1 thread?
He’s reported to have a termination clause in his Renault contract so if Ferrari or Mercedes offer him a drive he can leave without penalty, clever thinking really
Re: No F1 thread?
My thoughts are it was bloody cold, coldest it’s been all weekend, so low track/air temps, coupled with non-abrasive new surface keeping tyre wear to a minimum, on track post race there were hardly any marbles anywhere, compared with previous years where they’ve been everywhere. It started to warm up somewhat towards the end of the race so I think it’s just a case of the conditions sitting perfectly for him to be able to do it- what I find more amazing isn’t his lap time, it’s the fact that bottas on softs didn’t have an answer for itZonda_ wrote: Sun Jul 14, 2019 5:48 pmComfortably lead for the last part of the race so able to use them gently then push hard when the car was at its lightest? Re: No F1 thread?
Also one more thing to add before I get off to bed- this race and the last one in Austria has proven that Paul Richard has no place on the Calendar
