What happened to "Race on Sunday, sell on Monday"?
Now it must be "You have to sell on Monday so we can afford to go racing on Sunday"

How appropriate for the forum old git to have forgotten Graham Hill's achievement. I saw him racing in the 1960s too!Gavin wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:54 pmWould be in the modern era Graham Hill did it) but after not qualifying this year I wonder f he is going to look again at what he wants. He may well end up doing a full season of Indycar if he can get into a decent team though.PaulJ wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:28 pmWon't he be trying to engineer himself into the right car to complete the hat trick of FI champ, Indy and Le Mans winner. From memory that would be a unique set of gongs.Gavin wrote: Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:24 am I do wonder whether we will see Alonso back next year. He is not a man who is prone to mistakes and I wonder how close the fight might have been last year with Alonso in the Ferrari v Hamilton in the Merc! When Alonso was in the Italian team, they made a few errors but he didn't from memory.
I suspect it won't happen but he did a second stint with McLaren so who knows.
Now, what was I going to do next?

Seems to have been a bad afternoon for the big teams, red bull and Mercedes have got some work to do now, expect verstappen to have a 5 place penalty, looks like a gearbox ruiner

Don't they run a practice gearbox on Fridays? It's usually only Saturday mornings that they end up getting a gearbox penalty during a crash as they fit the race one.

True, forgot about that......Mito Man wrote: Fri Jun 28, 2019 9:55 pm Don't they run a practice gearbox on Fridays? It's usually only Saturday mornings that they end up getting a gearbox penalty during a crash as they fit the race one.
Re: No F1 thread?
Well Hamilton got a 3 place penalty. And if it’s not Ferrari letting themselves down with shit strategy it’s the car throwing a fit.
Might be a good race tomorrow - we’re certainly overdue one. Then again the faster cars may easily get ahead of the slower ones with DRS and end up with the usual tyre conservation snooze fest.

What’s wrong with Vettels car? I can see someone other than Merc winning this one!

Re: No F1 thread?
So Hamilton P4 as Magnussen also has a 5 place penalty. With the second row of the grid locked out there could be another Mercedes victory. But I think it will only happen if Hamilton quickly passes the moving chicane that is his teammate.

I can’t see Merc winning without a Ferrari screw up, LeClerc has the pace to make it happen.

Ferrari are desperate to throw away every opportunity aren’t they!

Does Bottas know he’s meant to race the others?

Anything on the penalty yet, seems to be taking ages to review it...

If they give a penalty for this, it would be a fucking travesty. There's plenty of people banging on about "consistency" on the Internets, citing the Vettel/Hamilton incident, as if leaving the track and rejoining in an unsafe manner is in any way the same as fighting for a place and having to yield the corner when you're the car behind and running out of road.
