I’ve been through most of the crap I hope (was pretty much an inpatient from the beginning of Jan until 5 weeks ago). Currently on a break to recover a bit before having my stem cells harvested on Monday and then a final high dose of nuking via chemo and the stem cell transplant.
How about not having a sig at all?

So does that mean the forum will have it's own Deadpool?Mito Man wrote: Sat May 12, 2018 11:14 pmI’ve been through most of the crap I hope (was pretty much an inpatient from the beginning of Jan until 5 weeks ago). ^ There's been Lara Croft and James Bond Land Rovers, why not a Deadpool one?

Re: It's the weekend
I've secured some workshop space. A bit of an odd one but I think it'll work out. It was previously a small business working on classic cars, it's now transforming into a kind of community vehicle workshop. I will get part of it for my own use (partitioned off, my own 3m roller shutter, enough space for two cars & a bit of elbowroom to work), it's not as big as I'd originally planned, but I will also have full use of the community area too. They have a couple of ramps, plumbed-in compressor, MIG & TIG welding sets, lathe, engine hoist, even a tyre changer. Everything a proper workshop needs. Very high ceiling so plenty of storage potential. Also, it's very close to home, I can cycle down there in five minutes. And it's dead cheap too

They're still getting the whole thing up & running. I'll hopefully be able to start moving in next month. Pics in due course. Exciting.
Re: It's the weekend
That is awesome, sounds ideal.

Re: It's the weekend
Wishing you the very best DS.
Re: It's the weekend
Thanks. Did the stem cell harvesting on Monday and Tuesday. Not something I ever want to do again

Re: It's the weekend
Sounds thoroughly unpleasant. Good luck with it all.
This weekend is a reasonably quiet one. The start up I was working at didn't get the sales it needed so I've jumped back into contracting. I now need to buy a complete new work wardrobe as I suspect that ripped jeans and James May-esque shirts won't fly back in corporate land.

Bloody hell, I thought this was behind you too. Best of luck, a mate's kid had a long nasty blood cancer and is now more than a year clear after his second marrow/stem cell transplant.Mito Man wrote: Wed May 16, 2018 9:09 pm Thanks. Re: It's the weekend
Same old same old weekend for me coming up in a few hours time. If it ain't broke, and all that.
Jimmy - I've got the opposite problem - after spending the last few years suited and booted, I'm having to scruff down a bit in contracting!

I'm having a similar issue. Someone I used to work with here has just got in touch to say that her current place is looking for someone with my exact skills and experience and they're willing to pay more than I'm on just now.
I don't think they'll take me seriously if I rock up in scuffed DMs and a tshirt with a baphomet print though

I had to look up what that was by the way

Re: It's the weekend
They sell golf equipment so I think they might be a little more conservative than the people I'm used to working with.

I've been a contractor since I was 21 and I think i've worn jeans for every single day. It helps never being based in any head offices. As a result I quite like suiting up when I get the chance (weddings, events etc)JLv3.0 wrote: Thu May 17, 2018 10:26 am Jimmy - I've got the opposite problem - after spending the last few years suited and booted, I'm having to scruff down a bit in contracting!
Re the weekend, it's go-live weekend 2/4 of a project I'm on so I'll be at work Sat PM til Sun AM (and maybe PM). Watch it be sunnier than a motherfucker
