The fact that the in-car photo looks similar, but appears to be unedited, makes me lol out loud. Paddy appears tiny. I wonder what Christine sees in him?

I suspect and hope, that this is going to be good. They'd almost got it nailed with the last lineup, so I'm optimistic.
Cheers,

First thing I thought of when I saw on the Beeb front page was of the photo Chris re-posted above - even Freddies head looks a little small compared to his body

It was a bit dull, but definitely not as awful as I expected.

That was alright, some bits of newness awkwardness and a bit of childishness from Freddie (suspect Chris could get fed up with that in the long run) but the unscripted bits weren’t forced and actually funny

It wasnt the worst thing I have ever seen, but I totally drifted off.

How can you record the fastest time and not show the footage of the fuckin lap? And i wanted to see the 600LT lap too.

They obviously went as safe as possible for the first episode - pick a good old one and remake it - nothing we’d not seen before. But that’s probably not a bad idea.

Yeah, the lack of 488 lap was strange.

It was alright, I’m sure it will get worse as it goes on. Did the Pista have those controversial new tyres on which last less than F1 hypersofts
How about not having a sig at all?

Wasn’t crap, parts seemed a little forced. Paddy still irritates me, but he knew his car and dropped in some little bits that showed he knew a bit. Will continue watching.

Agree with all of the above - it was an order of magnitude better than I thought it would be. Some bits were indeed a little bit forced but considering how bad the first series of the grand tour was I guess I was actually reasonbly impressed.

May well be they aired one of the best episodes first and theres a lot of filler later in the series but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

I knew from the prelim that 2 of the first cars were an old Mini and rwd Escort - was a nice bit of nostalgia as majority of my friends and me started off in one of those 2

Wasn't watching close enough to the Ferrari bit to hear whether they'd gone for the qualifying tyres again to get the lap time win?
