I guess if you don't understand or choose not to consider the implications then maybe it does seem funny that you'd argue against it.

Private prosecutions are not the way to regulate lies and manipulations told during a campaign in my opinion. If you look at the actual scope of the offence of misconduct in public office, it does seem remarkable that this would fall within the remit (I would expect it doesn't and this initial judgment noted it was not a judgment on an facts, merely not dismissing the case immediately).

It's probably unfair to target BoJo if we're being balanced, as they're all at it. Something should be done about getting more oversight though, the last few public votes have been riddled with false information (on both sides).
