What We Do In The Shadows is finally airing on BBC2 and its (thankfully) just as funny as the movie.
I'll pre-empt what I know is coming...
Or, its as unfunny as the movie.

Nobody want to comment on the cluster-fuck that was final GoT then? I might have to go and re-watch the one where Danny loses all her clothes, just to restore some faith in humanity.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
Re: Decent Recent TV
Is stumbled across Startup with Martin Freeman and Adam Brody. I have never even heard of it before and whilst you could criticise it for a few things, I've quite enjoyed it.
The reviews are terrible btw.

I've been looking at that, and thinking "it'll never be as good as Silicon Valley" so haven't bothered as yet.

Think Breaking Bad meets Silicon Valley.
Also check out Halt and Catch Fire

Re: Decent Recent TV
I think the penultimate episode adequately prepared everyone for the disappointment of the final. So many awesome things could have happened, but didn't. It was completely by the numbers visually spectacular but ultimately boring. The Memes of r/freefolk have been entertaining though.tim wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 2:36 pm Nobody want to comment on the cluster-fuck that was final GoT then?
I imagine there's a bunch of quite angry GoT merch retailers that are not getting the sales honeymoon they could have expected. Be interesting to see what if any fallout there is.

Re: Decent Recent TV
As I've said before, I had lowered all expectations about the series on the last season and so was resigned to this one being a bit shit. I thought the finale started off well but went downhill very quickly, but I thought it was OK. It met my lowered expectations and I really didn't expect more from it.tim wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 2:36 pm Nobody want to comment on the cluster-fuck that was final GoT then? It does make you realise just how hard it is to make a brilliant show, from start to end, over multiple years without dropping the ball. So I have even more respect for shows like The Sopranos and Breaking Bad which were on top of their game all the way through their run.
Cheers,

Nope, it's equally as brilliantly hit-and-miss as the movieAscender wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 2:29 pm What We Do In The Shadows is finally airing on BBC2 and its (thankfully) just as funny as the movie.

Nathan won't like it but then he doesn't like anything so who cares.

I'll watch anything with Matt Berry in it tbh. Its not just his voice, but his delivery and facial expressions get me every time.JLv3.0 wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 4:14 pmNope, it's equally as brilliantly hit-and-miss as the movieAscender wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 2:29 pm What We Do In The Shadows is finally airing on BBC2 and its (thankfully) just as funny as the movie.

In the meantime, Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia continues to be on a constant repeating loop in the house.

Mate I've being trying to get you lot into Sunny for decades now! My favourite show ever, and I don't say that lightly.

Its one of those shows I can't believe I didn't know existed for so long and is now an absolute staple. The structure of each episode is spot-on in terms of the instant setup and short length, so just pop one on anytime. Its genius and seems to get better and better with each repeated viewing.JLv3.0 wrote: Fri May 24, 2019 5:24 pmMate I've being trying to get you lot into Sunny for decades now! Re: Decent Recent TV
I don't mean it like that. It's just that they're both stars IMO and have already paid their dues in cult shows.

It was funny until they added Devito and changed the entire show.
