Never thought about it, I use now then all the time.
I say it a fair amount but not as much as "ey up" 😂
I'll be honest, I've adopted both since I've been living around here so I mean, I'm not complaining...!

I’ll bet “Now then, now then, now then” isn’t as popular as it once was... ;)

An old friend of mine from rural Northern Ireland would greet everyone with the odd colloquialism "well horse?"

I enjoy saying 'ey up'.

I feel like I'm breaking the rules by saying it in a scottish accent.

It spreads up to Teesside, not sure if it stops with us or continues up to the Macams and the Geordies

We also have ‘alright’ as a replacement for ‘hello my good man, how are you today’ in one easy word

I think that's pretty common though - I've heard that literlaly everywhere in some form or another - up in the far north, down in london, here in the middling north, etc.

ON the responses to a Tuckered article on Facebook. Too many highlights so I have copied and pasted for your delectation!

" The perants did it, sorted done lest not waste money following fake leads. They gave her something to help her sleep, she OD'ed and a doctor can dispose of a body easy to save his licence. They will never find her because the family are in on it. Their body language is so iffy at the best of times. It will end up like the motorway killinh. When they end up finding out its a inside job and if they wasn't rich and shouting liable at ever person who highlight it could be then the escape scrutiny. I once put this on another public group got Emails threating me all sorts of legal action. Oh the above is only an opinion with no facture base. Just encase, can be arsed with blocking anyone today or replying to legal BS. but seriously they are only milking it for the money now they know what happened or I believe they do."

Just remembered another one: principal and principle. We've got a load of "principle consultants" and people who use "design principals" in documents instead of "design principles" when they want to justify decisions and/or outcomes.

Edit: there's an unsurprising overlap between the principle consultants and those that want design principals in their documents.

That's a good one. It's amazing how often it happens.

My personal gripe is comprised of. Gets my bloody teeth on edge that one. Just reading a new Murakami book at the moment, and it's clearly a godawful American translation of the original, referring to sophomore years etc. But it was "comprised of" that had me reaching for the sharpened biro to poke my eyes with.

I always thought it was spelt "youse"?

Sean Bean?

Dunno, it's how my Dad writes it and he's born and bred St Helens.
