Its a lot easier to keep more meat on the tyre with the bike upright and you off it. Worth a try

As someone who can't hang off properly at all, I'm going to go full Beany and say:

- Arse too far off the seat (should only be 1 cheek, you're at 1.5 cheeks)
- You've rotated round the tank instead of moving across
- Spine should be parallel to the centre line of the bike
- You're still be faster than me

Anyway my new Shoei just arrived so all's good.

My buddy with the V4 Speciale broke his leg recently and needs kms putting on the bike to get it to the 1k kms service where they fit the Akra, remap it and change the wheels for the forgies. He's begging us to ride it so Ducati get off his back about having the parts cluttering up the shop First World Problems.

Bugger - was giving the (my) BMW a clean, wax and chain lube this morning when I noticed this:



Yes, Broccers, I know that's unusual treadwear but we can't all scrape earlobes at 87 degree lean angles like you (although the full sidewall gets used on track).

Anyway - the front's been looking pretty ragged for ages, my mate reckons RRs are really harsh on the fronts. New set of Racetec K3s being fitted at the moment - these ones lasted 5,300 kms (3,300 miles) and that wasn't really abusing them either. Guess there's nothing for nothing!

It amazes me how few tyres have any kind of wear indicator in the centre. One day you think it's fine, then suddenly you can see the chords. Do yourself a favour, and never poke your finger through the worn bit when the tyre gets taken off. It goes through so easily it makes you question how you survived

On the subject of tyres, I sent a DM on Twitter to Metzeler asking if they could suggest a track tyre pressure for the M7RRs on my S1000R, and got this super helpful reply.



This came after the Snetterton evening, so it looks like my 32/32 cold was still quite comparably high (owners manual says 36/42 f/r!). The rear felt squirmy on the road riding there though.

32 / 32 cold is way too high definitely. I use something like 22 rear / 25 front at the start of the day, which probably equates to high 20s each end after warming up. Works for me (no cold tear or melting) but then of course the track is generally on fire here.
