Anyone know about TIG welders?

Post by integrale_evo »

I'm pretty confident I understand MIG, but having done a couple of exhausts and would like to do more, I quite fancy a tig welder. Mainly for stainless and thin sheet mild steel, but with the possibility of aluminium in the future.

Now, I've poked about a few welding forums, but frankly have no idea what any of it means and seem to be full of Americans suggesting you spend thousands of dollars on top end industrial equipment.

If anyone could just point to one for sale somewhere and say "something like this would be fine" then that would be much appreciated :D

I bought flewys old one last year and sold it last month after I upgraded to an AC/DC tig set so that I can do alloy as well as steel now. It’s addictive.
