£40k?!
The running costs in total for the 20k miles he's done so far must be into double digits per mile!

Absolutely. Not questioning that, merely the cost.Rich B wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 9:11 amBut he does have an appreciating super car in basically showroom condition. His eyes are dry!DeskJockey wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 6:51 am £40k?!

Sounds good Mike, feel free to link to the good ones to save my time

Re: Carrera GT porn
Wow - pretty amazing. So... on the plus side, the clutch doesn't wear. On the negative, the gearbox was stripped and rebuilt by the manufacturer

Re: Carrera GT porn
That’s an incredible amount of bork for 20,000 miles and it’s had 2 of major services before.

Mito in "barely comprehensible shite spouted" non-shocker
Re: Carrera GT porn
So do all supercars need an engine out service every 4 years? Or just poorly engineered ones?

The engine was originally designed as an F1 engine and later modified for LMP use. If you want 100k miles between services, buy on old pushrod V8.Mito Man wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:26 am That’s an incredible amount of bork for 20,000 miles and it’s had 2 of major services before.

Re: Carrera GT porn
It's not really any bork at all either. A cracked synchro and a slight bit of corrosion starting on the ends of the springs seems like pretty good going imo, even for v. low mileage.
Re: Carrera GT porn
Or a manual R8 v10. Bet that will do 100k miles with just oil changes.NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:46 amThe engine was originally designed as an F1 engine and later modified for LMP use. If you want a bigger, faster Audi TT, then you go for it.Mito Man wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:57 amOr a manual R8 v10. They do a Lambo version for people who have tiny dicks which may be more to your liking?NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:59 amIf you want a bigger, faster Audi TT, then you go for it.Mito Man wrote: Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:57 amOr a manual R8 v10. Re: Carrera GT porn
It could just be because years ago loads of Ferraris and the air-cooled 911s needed engine-out services and expensive timing belt changes and that seemed to be the norm, so we were always hearing of huge service costs, but 40K still seems like a lot for a car which was what, a 500K car?
I know the old "if you have to ask you can't afford it" and its great to see someone actually driving the car, but was still shocked.
