Which of you weirdos actually likes them?
Bagels
Re: Bagels
Agreed. Bagels are fucking rubbish.
Lardy cake, that's what you really want.

Re: Bagels
Yeah, toast them. The texture is wrong if you don’t.
Re: Bagels
Exactly. Ham and cheese on a toasted bagel is my go-to breakfast / CBA snack. Balls to chewing through an untoasted one.
Re: Bagels
This is actually interesting.
I would never eat a sarnie with Scottish Plain bread, but there is no finer toast in teh world. FACT.

Re: Bagels
"People eat un-toasted bagels and then cry about it ? WTF?"
There. That's better.
I can understand it from the Northerners and the Sweaties - they seem to struggle even with their own bread products enough as it is - but Evostick is from the smarter end of the country and should know better.
Hey - hang on - are you sure you lot don't already have bagels, but call them boonswoggle penguin cakes or something?

You a Ross Noble fan Dave?
Vol-au-vent being French for "inadequate pie", and all that
Re: Bagels
I didn't even consider that someone would try and eat a bagel without toasting it.
A bagel with goats cheese and fried mushrooms is one of my favourite things.

Re: Bagels
I would give my vote to the awesomeness that is salt beef bagel with pickles and mustard - ideally from somewhere like Beigel Bake on Brick Lane.

Yep, been there many times - we also get bags of bagels from there to have on Easter breakfast (salmon and egg) at my wife’s family every year after the nights drinking.GG. wrote: Tue May 08, 2018 9:51 am I would give my vote to the awesomeness that is salt beef bagel with pickles and mustard - ideally from somewhere like Beigel Bake on Brick Lane.

Ciabatta is better toasted as well, makes the best garlic bread. It's also pretty good for a steak sandwich.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to say in a Scottish accent without sounding like an idiot (shut up JL

Weirdly, I've never really watched any of his shows but he's funny whenever I see him in something I happen to be watching. Vol-au-vents always appear to be filled with cat vomit, so I avoid them.JLv3.0 wrote: Tue May 08, 2018 8:29 am![]()
