Trying to Locate an Odd Junction Arrangement

This is a long shot but meh - I've asked on PH but don't expect to get anywhere.

Within the last couple of years I recall seeing a post on PH concerning a very unusual junction arrangement, and I'm trying to find out where that junction is. Unfortunately can't find the post on PH or this would be a lot easier.

It was a junction between two roads which crossed at right angles, but where you couldn't turn between either road i.e. you could only continue to travel on the road you were on, crossing over the other road. It had extremely small radii on each corner and possibly also central reserves on each road to keep the carriageway/lane widths fairly tight. This meaning that making a turn between the two roads would be incredibly difficult if not impossible. It may also have had high Trieff kerbs on the corners to further discourage anyone from trying to turn.

Otherwise standard roads IIRC, so one lane each way, and also I think it was a fairly built up area with housing.

Anyone on here ever come across this?

Are you thinking about the Runcorn busways? There’s loads of junctions that have various aspects of what you’ve mentioned, possibly one exactly as described. They tend to cross the main roads at right angles and buses can’t turn off them, cars can’t turn onto them.

The junction of Newhall Street and Gt Charles Street in Birmingham is almost what you describe. There are a couple of permitted left turns but if you are travelling along Newhall Street it’s straight across only.

Cheers gents but so far not what I recall. It was more extreme than those layouts. Really constrained and tight and with high kerbs.
