Cut and shut. Enjoy your fiery death.
Thanks - ill think of you as im flying backwards through a hedge on fire with the MCAS failure lights on.
Only if the original owner paid the £80k option fee.
Doubtful. Is that the option cost ?

I think BMW have been dicking about with this. It used to be standard (even my M135i "enthusiast spec" car had it), until the 140 LCI, and then it quietly became an option except for Shadow Edition cars, and from reading around it looks like some people were confusing "speed limiter" which is standard with cruise control.

I use it far less in my M140i because I got so used to the laser guided cruise in the vRS it just seems like a poor substitute now, and you really notice how shit other drivers are at driving at a constant speed!

Sounds like you've got a decent spec motor there though - heated seats would have been nice in mine.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.

Do you know if the limiter actually limits the speed or is it just a bong that goes off at a certain speed? Tried the manual online but it’s useless.

Pilot Super Sports are on it. Unsure of runflatness.
Non run flats then 👍
👍

Other spec.

It’s the LCI model so full black panel binnacle, LED lights front and rear, the updated drl pattern. DAB standard.

Options - HK sounds, reverse camera, sun protection glass (by which I think that means rear tints), heated seats, plus I won’t be getting a punch in the face from Tim as it’s the sport auto ZF 8 speed.

Annoyingly no cruise control as that’s an option which seems bizarre. And I would have liked the larger media screen but it’s not got that. I’ll live.

Cruise can be retrofitted for around £180. Which I may very well do.
😎 Sounds good. I’m continually amazed by new tyre’s durability and ability. (And you now get access to the soopa excloosiff BMW owners’ club, innit!?£&;) )
Cheers,

Yes, I have a hilarious story (to me) of the wife trying to join motorway traffic and use cruise control at the same time, but putting the speed limiter on instead! 😂😂😂

Yes it does stop you going over the set speed. Unless you activate kick-down and then it gets a bit confused about what's occurring.

Collection arranged for Saturday morning. Could have got it quicker but I can’t get to the dealer anytime this week as it’s a 2.5hr drive.

Is it Saturday yet.....?

In 330 news, it threw a low battery warning for the key today but only once. Then on the way home it threw a headlight warning. This is after a low oil warning last week despite it being fine. Started to think it might be the battery going sending things a bit mad.

Turns out it had blown a headlight bulb. One of the nighbreakers - arse. Have a spare std one at home so swapped out but now have two different coloured headlights. Will have to sort more nightbreakers.

Looks Superb Mike 8-)

Picked up on Saturday - Thankfully now washed. 100 mile run up the A68 via Galasheils through the borders was great to get to know the car. Bloody rain started over soutra though so the last section was a run over "Some of my favourite roads" as Harry M would say but very gingerly. My word this thing has got some grunt. Feels a good bit quicker than the Golf. In the wet its a bit of an animal. traction control lets a decent bit of slip before reigning it in. |Sods law the rain was just a 30 min shower so it dried up in the afternoon which meant i washed it.

Took a run to Knockhill yesterday in it as there was a modified car show on (above pic location). Sun out and dry roads meant i could give it a bit of a squeeze. Even in the dry it squats and wriggles the rear on full chat.

Drove it in the dark last night. LED headlights - epic! The LCI dash looks great as well - needles turn red in the dark.

Auto box is great. really suits the big engine. HK sounds are pretty decent and I like having the reverse camera again.

Comparison to the Golf. The Golf was definitely better damped. Im not sure how this will fare round the REDACTED loch road. Straight line this is definitely quicker as I said. Unconvinced on the brakes so far. Will need to drive it in anger properly to decide. Noise wise - surprisingly this is a bit quieter in the cabin than the Golf in Race mode. Ive read you can change the ASD levels with bimmercode so i might do that. From outside it sounds decent though with a more bassy burble and pops on the overrun. Mrs A said it sounds very growly on idle!

So far all positives bar ive noticed its missing the tyre goo and compressor from the boot. Phone the dealer today but the guy i bought it from is off on a Monday so should speak to him tomorrow. Oh and i noticed a dent in the wing which i didnt see when i looked at it. Brother is going to get his dealership dent boy (He's Parts manager at Edinburgh Renault) to look at it.

Awaiting the V5 to transfer my plates across.

Noice.

Sport mode, 5th gear, 40 mph, windows down, ride the throttle on/off and it pops nicely. I might have discovered. :)

I think I'm going to order a set of MPSS this week, and keep these Bridgestone runflats for winter. It tramlines like a bastid which my old one never did, and is more jiggly than I like. Pretty convinced it's the stiffer sidewalls at work.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
