New Pillow!

Post by Richard »

I snore a bit

I don’t sleep especially well, waking up in the night tossing and turning

Achey shoulders

Except all that is now in the past!

I went to buy new pillows from M&S, and was just about to buy some lovely down ones, but as I was picking them up, I realised that perhaps, sleeping on down pillows might be a bit like wearing a fur coat? Like maybe it’s not a very nice thing to do. So I abandoned the lovely down pillows, and got my PA to investigate how awful buying down is. Turns out, it’s not really that great.

A while later I was telling that THRILLING story to a friend, and he said that he’s got a Tempur pillow, and that maybe I should get one of those.

These pillows are £100 EACH. Luckily you only need one. I had some Amazon vouchers burning a whole in my pocket, so thought this was a great way to spend some of them. There’s a few types, I bought this one - https://amzn.to/2UNPrRW

Here’s my review, after having the pillow for a couple of months

It’s really very uncomfortable. Especially horrid for lazy Sunday mornings spent in bed

However, I now sleep the whole night through. Every single night. Never have I had a better nights sleep. It’s incredible. And I don’t snore at all, apparently. I go to sleep, and wake up when my alarm goes off, feeling rested, and relaxed. Maybe that’s normal sleeping behaviour for people? For me though, it’s been a real positive change in my life

I would 100% reccomend to anyone

Losing weight is effective (and cheaper)*

£100 and next day delivery with Prime is probably easier though, isn’t it?

I remember getting a free Tempur pillow with their mattress about 10 years ago. I still rate the mattress 10/10. The pillow got resigned to the useless tat cupboard of shame after my first night. The best pillows for me are the cheap thin ones you can get at any supermarket - you know the 2 for £10 type deals. I take them on holiday too as I can’t stand the luxurious crap hotels use which is about 1 foot thick...
How about not having a sig at all?

I'm not down with the idea of a tempur one. Nor the hollowfibre ones eider. My sleep patterns were goosed until I switched to feather.

We have Tempur pillows. Bought them with the Tempur mattress but they were about £70 each, not £100. I love it but the O/H gave up after one night. She prefers to 'cuddle' that one whilst using the thin old one as a pillow.

I can recommend them too - lovely things.

Likewise though, my wife never liked them and has two pitta-bread like pillows instead - weird! ;)

I've never woken up "rested and relaxed" though - I barely wake up, and when I can finally persuade my eyes to open, I'm always knackered. That's how it's supposed to work isn't it?!

I clicked with some trepidation on this thread, but yeah, they're good. Also alright for reading at night/catching up on viewing on iPad (bad habit, I know).
