Just looking at that Tiff clip last night - the F1 sure does lean about as much as a modern day Transit van
I reckon it would be disappointing to drive in a spirited manner in 2019 - no doubt suspension and brake upgrades would fix it right up but just replacing a bolt with a non OEM one would cause £500k of depreciation wouldn’t it

The GTR version was an ok track car I believe

The F1 engine has a sound like no other. It’s like you can hear the explosion of each cylinder by itself instead of all put together. Incredible.

It’s not my favourite supercar but it’s the best engine ever fitted to a car.

I’m guessing to own one would actually be like any other car old car, exciting as fuck for a little bit, then you get used to it because that’s how the human body works, then you realise it’s not really that good in 2019.

There’s a guy who owns one on Boatshoes, he has a long running thread on it which is one of the very few I’ve actually followed and he said it was designed as a comfortable touring car and wasn’t very good when he took it on track days. He actually did a lot of reversible modifications to make it better to drive.

I kind of get where Rev is coming from. I think they are wonderful machines, but it's not the supercar I lust after. Given a theoretical chance to own just one supercar, I'm afraid mine would be red and have F40 embossed into the side of the rear wing.

I did enjoy doing a bit of random BMW e36 switchgear spotting, and also thought in the slow driving about bit it sounded very s50 ish. Not so much when giving it some stick though

The engine sounds fantastic, no argument there. It's not even "clinical" as I think that's a stupid criticism. I'm not saying it's bad, just that it doesn't stir me. Jay Leno himself talked about it being turbine smooth, relatively softly set up, pure design that quietly impresses etc. I prefer the stripped out, flame spitting, bucking bronco F40 or the UFO looks of the Countach. I've always said, if I ever drive one, I'm sure it would leave me dribbling but it wouldn't be my first choice to buy if I suddenly ended up becoming a billionaire.
