Does anyone think businesses will try and push the government for some kind of compensation given how much they’re royally fucking this whole thing up with 9 days to go? Brexit preparations don’t come for free and if the whole idea of leaving the EU goes down the pan chaotically then it would seem logical that something should be on offer for the way the government have mis-managed the situation.

Rumour is if May can’t get her extension and deal agreed she will resign. Then who are we left with?

Imagine if every one of the EU27 had to hold a referendum, or a vote in parliament at least, to agree to an extension.

This country is Veruca Salt.

It's an interesting question as to why they don't actually though isn't it. Its a waiver/amendment of one of the treaty provisions for the benefit of one member. I would've thought that certainly under the legal systems of some countries that would potentially require an confirmatory vote. Doesn't sound like anyone has raised it though.

I tried to sign it earlier, got most of the way through, but needs to have email verification. Not had that through yet, so guessing it's still struggling badly!

Reloaded that site, and the numbers are still going up - 74% / 26% split currently

So we’re out on April 12th if she can’t get her deal passed next week, May 22nd if she can.
