Car is going in for a service and MOT next week, I'm going to see if they can check my static noise reading while it's in. I ordered new packing for the silencer but when I opened it up packing was in pretty good shape. Exhaust was blowing a bit at one of the connections so I tried to bung it up with some exhaust gunk.

Got the decibel slayer, that seemed to fit ok, but hard to tell what difference it made from the confines of my garage.

TL;DR? I'll be there, I just hope they let me out to play! :?

:D What sort of static readings have you had a circuits Chris? Spoke to another R400K RBTB owner who said he was fine at Bedford, and maybe I'm just paranoid, but it does seem pretty loud.

Never had a problem at Bedford but then I don't have RBs... I can understand your paranoia, but have a word with the organisers when you get there and I'm sure they'll help you out. Or unplug your rev counter

I’m tempted. Have a mate going up there tomorrow in his new M3 but as I’ve whined about before I’d want insurance so the costs are too much for this month with various other house expenditure I have and the chance half the day would be a wash out.

June sounds like a good shout though.

Well I've got the airbox and the repack is good, decibel slayer if needed. Not sure what else I can do apart from getting one of those massive Raceco cans.

I read about someone saying that the overrun popping was causing a noise issue, and mine does it a lot, but I tested hot on a steady throttle and it wasn't really doing it. So I'm guessing he had a mapping issue that I don't have.

The mic for the noise meter is just after the first turn on the left, so if you're worried, coast past it like this...

I was given the noise board first lap out, you get one chance there.

Last call!

I see the Javelin website no longer shows who is going and what car they are bringing. Damn GDPR.

Getting nervous now !

Going to give my brakes a once-over this weekend, apart from that I think the car's ready.

Work has been insane so I haven't really thought about it, I feel horrendously unprepared. I'm working on Sunday so I've basically got tomorrow to prep, need to prep the decibel slayer, plug up the last couple of gaps the exhaust is blowing through and check the oil (more of a ball ache than you might think).

Anything else?

Is anyone with a more sensible car bringing any goodies like an electric tyre pump or some tools or anything? Needless to say the less I have to bring the better! ;-)

If the car busts the noise limits wide open you boys better be ready to give some p-rides! I'm tempted to bring my normal air filter for late in the day to feel full powah for the one lap I suspect I'll get before being black flagged.

@Jon, yeah well annoying about the attendance list.

@Duncs, I’ll have a pump mate. And oil.

Just bring license, towing eye, helmet and cash :)

I’ll bring a smattering of tools. Don’t think my trolley jack will fit in though.

A very good day today; didn’t do that many miles as my lower back was bothering me. Started off damp/mist, then rain, then dry. Spun twice, got shown ‘noise board’ three times :P all in all great fun.

Shame about Duncs’ woes. Hope it’s not going to be too costly.

SJ’s 996 is pretty well sorted now, and I thought SJ drove well, as a driver, not just as a track day newbie.

Highlight for me though, was easily the 996 vs Megane battle with Jon. Huge fun. Shame my GoPro’s batteries were playing up, so no footage.

We need to make this annually, at the very least. :!:

What happened to Duncs? Mech issue? (Not a crash I hope...!)
