Re: Posh E30 M3
If there's any car in the world crying out for a centrelocks conversion, that is it!
I'm not going to say I don't like it, because I do and would sell several body parts for it, but there's also lots I don't like or would have done differently.
The logo thing glued over the front of a base model analogue clock looks particularly poop. And if you're going to completely change the character of the original engine I'd rather have saved some weight and fitted the more modern high revving e90 v8 and engines production car reliability.

Not for me.
I’m going to be really boring and say I’d rather have an original road car or an ex-Group A/DTM race car.

Good point, how much is Patrick Snijers rally car, less than that I'd wager...Coaster1 wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:55 pm Not for me.

Presume you all know the vid I'm talking about

I don't understand this trend for modernising old cars. The E30 was great in the day but that day was 30 years ago. If it was the likes of an E Type that had fundamental flaws that Eagle addressed that's one thing but the E30 M3 was pretty damn good as I recall

Re: Posh E30 M3
It’s a Singer thing isn’t it - they started this trend for taking something classic, modernising it and selling it for £muchosmore and now there’s about 100 firms doing the same. I’d still rather have a standard car and modify it how I want it because surely that’s the whole point of modifying something.
How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Posh E30 M3
I can't work out where I sit with the whole Singer / Alfaholics etc thing. Not sure why.

Re: Posh E30 M3
and just like Singer, I expect this company will modify the car in line with your desired specification, but sensibly have already developed their own range of options to remove the risk/cost of developing/testing your own.Mito Man wrote: Sat Mar 16, 2019 12:21 pm It’s a Singer thing isn’t it - they started this trend for taking something classic, modernising it and selling it for £muchosmore and now there’s about 100 firms doing the same. Re: Posh E30 M3
It really depends, when looking around for my own car I tried Twisted and Bowler. They had a really specific line of packages and products you could choose from, namely what they already use or is their own brand e.g. I didn’t like their bumpers and asked about a third party one but they recommended I have someone else fit it before. So I did and they ended up building my car to the same spec for 50% cheaper too

youre surprised that bowler/twisted weren’t interested in taking on a job of fitting a bumper to your car? What else were you wanting them to do?Mito Man wrote: Sat Mar 16, 2019 12:43 pm It really depends, when looking around for my own car I tried Twisted and Bowler. Re: Posh E30 M3
I like the idea of recreating a classic looking 911 but I think the Singers go too far. I’ll take mine just stripped out, quality suspension and a nicely tuned motor. No need for all the carbon fibre tat. That bloke Magnus can fuck off too, the hipster cunt.JLv3.0 wrote: Sat Mar 16, 2019 12:30 pm I can't work out where I sit with the whole Singer / Alfaholics etc thing. Not sure why.

I think we're on the same page - refresh it and make it work, but fuck off with your nickel-plated revcounter needle with a unicorn foreskin tip
