The Motorbikerist Thread
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
I don’t know much about bikes but I reckon they’re worth a punt if Barry rates them Rev...
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Metzler Roadtec's for me all day long, on non-sports machinery.
You settle up, I'll go get the Jag.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
I'll be trying M7RR on the StreetR when I can justify binning the plastic Corsas off, but the Road5s suit the Tracer - any more grip and spaghetti suspension would tie itself in knots.
I wouldn't claim to be a tyre guru Dinny, the Mich Pilot series just suits my general needs for year round capability and enough grip and confidence to have fun in summer. I'd rate the Road5 above the old PR4s though, far more feel and grip at the limit.

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
I'd certainly buy the road 5s again. Great grip when you need it and pretty even wear rate too which is a bonus. A full-on sports tyre would've squared off majorly on my bike by now.
The only slightly disconcerting thing is that they do sometimes slip a little before the shoulder catches you...but it does catch you
I'm not overly keen on the tread pattern tbf but that shouldn't really be an issue

Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
I ruled them out because no one’s getting the mileage the PR4s or Angel GTs are getting. I like the M7RRs on my Gixxer, though.tim wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2019 10:53 pm Metzler Roadtec's for me all day long, on non-sports machinery.

I get 12k to a front and 7 to a rear with them on my RT.

People are reporting 4k on Superdukes. Having said that, I’m 2k beyond what most get on the Angels.

Do they ride like cunts though? Actually you should probably follow their advice... :p

Oui, je suis un motard.
Re: The Motorbikerist Thread
Went into Infinity this morning, came out £800 lighter, but with some very nice AlpineStars two piece leathers and boots.
I think I'm going to return the boots though as despite being the only ones in the shop that would go over the leathers and do up, they're almost identical to my existing ones (which don't) and are more touring than sports. Will probably have to ride up to SportsbikeShopa and try on their entire stock now!

Went for a good blat around on the XJR today with the new bars/riding position. Rode like a complete twat and thoroughly enjoyed it. Puts your weight much further forward and far more leverage over the front wheel. Feels great and surprisingly flickable given the weight of the thing
Bit bloody windy out there though.

I called in Ducati Norwich this afternoon, rubbed myself up and down the V4S a bit, then tried on some boots in their excellent clothing dept. I came away with these rather fabulous SIDI Rex. Leathers go inside a treat, tons of protection and a lovely fit. Am pleased.

Apart from the faff of putting them on and taking them off again, I love my Sidis. Really comfy and very well made.

On my second set of Gore2 Sidi, done me well they have. Not too sweaty on summer, bearable in winter with warm socks. Don't leak.

Yeah its a bit of a performance but these are track day and blasting around on the S1000R boots, not my everyday ones.NotoriousREV wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:57 pm Apart from the faff of putting them on and taking them off again, I love my Sidis. Really comfy and very well made.

Also, I’ve bought some new textiles. I’ve been using the RST Paragon V 2 piece suit for 5 years and they’ve been great, but the zip bust a few weeks back and there’s a bit of wear on one of the sleeves, plus I was 17 stone when I bought them and only 14 stone now so they’re pretty baggy on me now. They’re also a bit commuter/adventure looking and I wanted something more “sporty” without looking like a power ranger. If you’re lucky, I’ll do a fashion shoot when they arrive.

Do you even need the side stand with that rear
CBA getting into it on FB MCN page, but you know my thoughts, Road5 or Roadtecs FTW. Must have a couple thou on my Road5s now and they still look pretty new.

It’s not so bad. It’s more the front squirming over *everything*, especially in the wet, that’s the problem.tim wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 11:03 pmHoly shit get that changed! The turn-in must be awfulNotoriousREV wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 10:28 pm Do you think this is square enough?
